I am 13 and i have nothing to do?

all my friends live far away and no kids live around us what should i do

Answer:
HI Preston,

My grand son who is 10 has the same problem. We live in the middle of farm country and our neighbors are far apart. He realizes that to accomplish anything in the future he will need his own transportation. In the past he read a lot. He helped a neighbor do farm work in trade for and older Pick Up truck. In the process of working he made very good friends with the farmer and his family. Up to now he either road his bike or his horse to get where he wanted to go. In our area almost every farmer has a small machine shop with torches, welders, drills, saws, you name it. The truck is running and needs a paint job. Even though he is to young to drive on the road he can drive on private property and now has paths worn to all his friends houses. Recently the school offered karate lessons which he is studying and practicing his form. He also is giving himself guitar lessons.

I give him a lot of credit as he offers to do work around here without being asked and all he wants in return is to be able to wear the clothes he likes. Since most of the kids wear farm cloths to school this sets him off as being a little different and everyone knows he is not afraid to work as he has helped each one do their farm chores and now that he has a ride and is approaching 13 he has a lot of respect. In fact He is teaching his 65 year old grand father the finer points of self defense.

I guess what I am saying is that I have found, being a young person once, that there are a lot of things you can do. I used to walk two miles to help my friends pick sweet corn. When we got a wagon full we sold it on the main street for a quarter a dozen five dozen for a dollar. In very little time, after we paid for the fuel, we all had enough money to go to the show or some dance.

Young kids have brains and all they have to do is figure out what they want and work for it.
I am not sure this will help but lots of luck. Ty cannot wait for the snow as we have a few steep hills and he is working on a special sled for him and his kid brother. I just hope he will let me ride too.
