Dyslexia, adhd, vision questions?
Why then was spelling a C in elementary school and math was always an A?
Why do I switch around words, mix them up or totaly miss them when I read?
I got glasses at 3 months old and I am very farsighted. (I have contacts now) Does that have a big effect?
When I read the symptons of dyslexia I fit almost all of them, why if I don't test for it?
Answer:
I have ADD in my family and been through the test. Mostly guys are taking ADHD medication, but i don't know anyone girl who has admitted to take them daily. You can pass on the drugs.
I have similar problems. I got my ACT scores back and Math and Sciences could get me into any school in Virginia, but my reading brought the composite down two points. I am now applying to college. Yes, they are all related dyslexia, ADHD, and the vision problems. check links below. You got a C in spelling because you had a hard time with visual memory of how the word looks. When you have the money and time to improve, I would suggest visual eye teaming. It improves spelling, reading, and visual muscles.
Why don't you test for it?
I have know idea. your strengths can easily overshadow your weakness.
What alot of questions!
A "C" in spelling and an "A" in math simply means you're better at math than you are at spelling. Everyone is better at somethings than they are at others. I always got "A"'s in spelling without studying and got lower scores in math when I studied.
I also switch numbers or letters around once in awhile, usually when I am rushing. That doesn't mean anything.
If you are in college and are getting good grades STOP WORRYING!
An IQ of 130 is good. Don't look for problems that obviously aren't there. Enjoy your college years.
