This may sound alarmist, but contact your school administrators. They need to know this is occuring, a teacher should NOT have friendships with their students outside school no matter the medium used. This is frowned upon for a reason, and your school needs to be aware this is occuring so that they can investigate if there is more that they need to worry about.

Talk to your parents and they can meet with your principal about this situation. Under no circumstances, should an teacher be contacting a student for personal reasons! My daughter only has contact with her teachers through Mygradebook.com and I receive duplicate e-mails of any correspondence with them. Your algebra teacher is way out of line and a possible predator, you need to protect yourself and your classmates!

Don't allow him on your page. He might be harmless but it is better safe than sorry. I think it is a little weird that he is looking up students and trying to be their "friend". Please set your page to private this is a great feature because then people can not see your personal stuff. It is very easy to do to, and just blocks people who are not on your friends list from seeing your page.
To set your account on private go to account settings on your opening page, go to privacy settings change settings, then change it to friends only and save. This way no weirdo can look into your page, you never know who is really out there looking at you.
He as a teacher, should not be doing this at all. Simply tell him you are not interested. If he persists, then tell him you will report him and then follow up. Teachers are hired by the school distirct, which leads all the way up to the national school board. So technical teachers are there to teach and do their job. When he sends you a friend request again, say something like "I am not comfortable having a teacher on myspace" Reasons: he knows what you post, he knows the answers to the surveys you post, there is a picture of him kinda naked, this guy is freak. Your friends accepted him because they just want one more friend to add to their list of hundereds. He might forget about it, people don't take myspace that seriously, and overall his opinion of you doesn't effect your grade.
