I really don't understand your question. Are you asking for advice on websites because you need to pass on this information to the 12 year old or are you going to be sitting on a one time basis. If this is a one time deal, stay off the web and share quality time together. Find preteen friendly art projects or discussions you can share.
The web is a really good thing, but how much social skills can one learn from the darn thing.
