What is your schools cell phone policy?

im just wondering what kinds of rules and regulations your school has for/against cell phones

Answer:
When I was in highschool, we could bring our cellphones. However, they had to be turned off. And the teachers couldn't see them, or they would take them up, and made your parents come pick them up themselves. (The teachers who actually cared). In some classes my senior year, everyone called people on the cellphone, text messaged. and the teachers didn't even care. It all just depends on the teacher.
You can have them...just dont let the "us" see them.
We aren't allowed to use them, but everyone does. If they catch you with it, then they'll take it and your parents have to come pick it up.
If you get caught with one then they take it away from you and you will get detention. I have a 5 year old son (no cellphones this early!) but that is what it said in the school rule book.
we can bring to school but can't use them while in class or in hallways
phones can be in cars and in use only at luch and before/after school
You can have it. Put it on vibrate. Don't use it or the teacher can take it for the rest of the day. Twice would be for a month. Third is suspension. You can check it, but not call anyone unless it's outside of the building.
after school only. nxt yr probably it will be never due to ppl abusing the rule
u have to keep them in ur locker and if you have they take it away until a parent/guardian comes and picks it up
They are to be turned off and unseen on campus. They can be used after school is over. This goes from grade school to high school. I don't know about colleges, but I would assume that your professor would make an example of you if you let it ring in class.
my school says that we can bring cell phones but we cant leave it on on school hours but we can use it afterschool and befor school
At the school i just finished at, we could have phones, as they were switched off in class. Of course this didnt happen, people msgd in class, but didnt really take calls, put their phones on silent, and its never been much of an issue. I know some schools make a really big deal out of it though!!
Out of sight out of mind.
Keep them in a purse, bookbag, locker. shut off or on silent. Not to be used or seen during school hours or they will be confinscated.
If it's after school we can use them...and we are allowed to have them...but no sounds coming from them
have them off during school hours. if seen taken away. possibly get written up..or just lectured..depending on who in the school talks to you, what grade your in and if you have phone offenses before. but the teachers like the students having them in a emergancy situation type thing like fire or bomb or gun or whatever kinda threat or what ever kind of emergancy the school deems cell phone use appropraite.
My school lets us have cell phones on campus but the school officials aren't aloud to see, hear , or know that you have one. If you're caught with one that's visible or if it goes off in class, it's taken up and you get a write up and your parent has to come up to the school to get it back. Like on the 2nd time you have to pay to get it back from the police department and you don't get your phone back on the 3rd time.
There isn't a policy about cell phones in my school. You are allowed to have them and use them. But if they start ringing in class some teachers tell you to turn them off while other ones just tell you to go outside and take your phone call
Cellphones found in student possession are put through a chipper-shredder. The shredded remains are placed in a dumpster which, when full, is emptied, the contents being sold as scrap metal. Proceeds of the sale are used to buy new and more powerful chipper-shredders.
cant take them 2 school, but everyone does
you are allowed to have them in youre purse, but they are to be on silent or turned all the way off, if they vibrate or ring usually they just ask for you to please turn it off. since it dosent happen that often it usually isnt a big deal.
we are alloud to have them in certain classess same goes for MP3 players and ipods other wise u leave them in a box at the front office (desk) and collect them in the afternoon
Well we used ot be able to use them between classes, but now the only time we can use them is at lunch and after school. And if you get caught with it during class, it gets put in a plastic baggie, and the security guard has to take it up to the office.
They're not supposed to be there, but just about everyone brings them. No one really inforces the law.
turn em off and put em in ur locker, or hand em in to the office, but only three - five out of 500 girls do that... we all put em on silent and keep em in our pockets. and when u sit on em and it makes a sound... R.I.P (for the phone, not the student)... hehehe
we have to have them off in our lockers, but everyone always has them in their pockets or purses on vibrate and stuff. its not like teachers are gonna take all class to check for cell. i keep mine in my pocket.
it's like this: if you have a phone, you're dead
I wish the policy was that teachers are not to interrupt our cell phone conversations
cant use umm have to be on silent or off
not allowed to have them unless u consult the principle. hehe nobody follows it, we just put it on vibrate during the day!!...

We can have them but they have to be hidden and silent during the day but my teachers don't care they talk on their phones all the time during class. If they do take it your parents have to pick it up.
well we can bring it but we can only use them during certain times:

a. before & after classes
b. break time
c. inbetween classes

we can bring it but must be switched to silent mode or turn it off

or else..

they'll confiscate it

u can only get it back:

after classes(only a warning-1st timer)
parent/guardian gets it(2nd warning)
after school year(3rd & last warning)
be permanently confiscated(major offense after 3rd/last warning)
or be auctioned
cell turned off and in locker, if seen will be confiscated and a parent will have to come get it after a week, but u can use them on campuse after school, not before.... and they go thru ur lockers, and if u have a cell/ organizer (i.e. palm piolet) it will be confiscated. not camera or picture phones on campus. yet teachers can talk on thier cell all day long if they like.
