I agree with Jennifer, just be yourself. I don't know if you want to listen to either, but I'm sixteen and I hope you do. I've been on both sides and trust me being popular isn't what it is cut out to be. A whole lot of it is an act and everyone is phony to eachother. You'd never have a true friend again, it just isn't worth it. Everyone always talks about each other, you just need to be yourself and be happy that you are you don't try to be something you're not it's so not worth it.
I know what I am about to say to you, will not matter one bit and you could care less. But,
Why would you want to? The "popular" kids are hated ALOT more then those who are not. Why would you want to screw your life up as much as there lives usually are. Not to mention it wont matter one bit 10 years from now.
popularity is lame! it sdoesnt mean anything. be happy the way you are. you only said you were 13 right? just be yourself and if peopel dont liek you for who you are then oh well! sucks to be them huh. .. just be yourself. dont act liek somethign you arent you will only come off as fake.. be happy wiht the way you are. popularity could only get your into trouble..
populartiy is so lame! everyone who is popular is lame! you don't want to be popular because you'd be lame! nobody likes someone who is with the popular crowd.

Join a bunch of clubs and be more involved in school-sponsered community service. You'll meet a wide range of people who will have no choice but to talk to you. When you first meet them, forget about your shyness and act more outgoing. You'll make many friends, trust me.
first off i have to tell you to be popular u have to have these few things
1)a really good personality
2)alot of friends that like you for you
3)and you definatly have to be well known by ppl(but in a good way such as because you really a fun person to hang with and ect.)
i know how u feel..but i have lived in my city since kindergarden.and well i still have problems talking to guys..whenevr i meet some guy i will barely talk to them...and just to get a conversation between a guy and me going my friends will tell them some of my most depest darkest secrets just to get a reaction...but you know what dont show those ppl that you are kinda embarassed or shy...the more you show it the more they realize it so that means the more and more they will start making it worse for you...dont be shy and embarassed to talk to them...i think girls think its cute when guys are shy around them but i happen to like guys that are but hide it...in fact all my friends do too..but you know what i think ur cool...and dont ever let the fact ur a ddr fan get to ya or the fact ppl know...all of us here know now and i dont think any of us really have a problem with you being a fan of ddr...its a really good game to practice ur moves so why do ppl hate it?but ur really cool so one day u will find the perfect girl or girls that like you for you...i know i would.=)
Confidence is absolutely everything. You've got to act like you know you're great, but don't act like you think the other kids aren't great to do it. Talk to everyone whenever you see a chance. Like, if they're talking about a tv show you like, just jump into the convo. ("Oh, you guys like that show too? Yeah, it's pretty cool.." Or something to that extent.
