How much pocket money should a 10-11 year old recieve per week?
Answer:
guess that depends on how generous you are. my lad does his bedroom every week, the pots now and again and sometimes the hoovering. in return he has a magazine every week (£1.70) and Lord of The Rings collection figures (£5.99) every fortnight. If he wants any money then he does other things like taking out the rubbish, washing the car etc. 9 times out of 10 he doesnt bother, he sticks to his books.
I guess £5 is ample or am I being scrooge??
10 bucks, clean the room, take out the trash, possibly dishes
5 bucks. Clean up, take out trash.
sod all!! make em work down the mines!
£10 id say, simple chores, i.e washing up, do the hoovering, clean up their room everyday etc.
I think doing say 3 nites of washing up then about £5.00. If they do know tasks then £2.00. After all what does a 10/11 year old need to buy? If they want to start saving encourage them to do sum chores.
$5 to $10 at most. At that age they should be doing the dishes and picking up around the house. Also, you can throw in taking out the trash.
depends on how good they've been. i used to get a couple bucks. but that was in the 80s lol. if they do all their chores and dont act like a twit, i'd say at leat $5. no more than $10. they could clean, do dishes, rake leaves, etc.
My daughter gets $5.00 a week, she has to wash dishes 3 nights a week and keep her room clean. If she helps with mopping, vacuuming or dusting, she gets extra.
washing up, hoovering, sweeping, taking rubbish out, tidying their room. small things like that. i would say about 8 quid if they do it all
yep £10 seems reasonable, she should be expected to keep her room clean, help with the dishes after dinner, hoovering, brekkie in bed on sunday lol
A simple list of chores:
1. Wash the dishes after dinner
2. Empty the dishwasher
3. Keep room clean
4. Do own laundry and/or fold clothing
5. Sweep kitchen floor
6. Take out trash
7. Clean out animal's cage/area
8. Keep themself clean
I would say you should give them 3 of these chores minimum, but 5 at the most. I think they should get $10 for doing these well, $5 for doing OK, and $0 for not doing them.
When you train him, or her to be dependent on their own, for expense other than what is provided for them, the mistakes they make, will only teach them self reliance, and a beginning on lifes experience. They will learn what things are really in their need, and what is just a desired luxury, that will fall from popularity.
why does a child that age need money?
I know that sounds crazy but unless they are going somewhere special they dont need it weekly.
You pay for everthing else...food, clothes, education. If they work around the house, chores, then give them a few dollars but only if they help. That doesnt include cleaning their rooms (your rooms, you own the rooms they dont. they just live there for a few years, rent free). Five dollars for their chores per week is plenty. Chores is gathering up all the dirty clothes, dishes, sweeping, dusting, outside work, anything you need done...slave labor in miniture
I may sound nasty but hell...kids dont NEED it since they have everything else handed to them. They also dont need phones to take care of business...they have no business...only growing
no pocket money, i think it's too early, and it's better for children to understand that money does not grow on trees. At home my little one helps with emptying the dishwasher and putting the dishes back in the cupboard, she also likes tidying her room, although i do not ask her to do that speciifcally, and i pass behind to check that it's done properly... i basically let her do what she likes doing, without imposing any specific task. she's only 10 after all... she enjoys helping with baking cakes or doing pancakes..
what you should really do is start a savings account for junior, and deposit $10 every week. soon you will start to see how it will add up.
52 weeks a year, times 10, $520 a year. when he's 20, or around there, he'll have $5,200
10, clean the room, clean bathroom and take out the trash
About £5, and give him or her bonuses for good school reports etc
I don't get any pocket money and I am 13 years old! However, I do make £50 a week =D
Well vacumming is very easy even if you have to buy a smaller one to accomidate. loading a dish washer maybe too much for a 10 year old but you could try it once to see how it goes. Now i'm not saying do all the laundry but teach ur child how to at least sort the laundry at a young age whites with whites colors with colors and so on. Dusting you can start at around 8 or 9 and definate clean up after dinner!! whether it be wiping down the table and sweeping up the floor or putting trash in trash and dirty dishes in sink (with rinse off) now with just these jobs ur house is already cleaner especially if you have this done at least 3 times a week. Now for the allowence just see how much she/he has done that week make a chart and have them check what they did that day and set a rate for every check. When i was growing up it was 2 dollars for vacuming 1 for dusting 1 for sorting 3 for dishes and a big 5 for the bathroom (age 12-18) now if you add this all up it will probley get them about 10-15 dollars a week but only give them 10 always keep the left over and place it into a box or piggy bank to teach them the value of saving! which is very important then u figure 5 dollars a week X 4 weeks in a month they save 20 dollars a month and in one years time they have 240!! now that can be used for a vacation you may take let that be some of their spending money or their xmas shopping for family and friends. or even make them keep saving but rememebr in order for this system to work you need to set goals and time frames they might even get more eager to save more and give up their allowences. Now i was a rich child because of this system what ever i wanted i had it but i was buying it my self because my parents taught me the value of money same i will do for my own children. good luck and hope this gives you somewhat of an idea
Depends what they do. I would say for £5.00/week the following chores should be completed to a staisfactory level;
Washing up, drying and put away of dishes 3 times per week.
Vacuming and of the living room and dining room at the weekend.
Taking out rubbish whenever necessary.
Feeding, watering regularly and cleaning of all pets. (at least once a week)
For £10 per week the following would be added;
Put two wash loads on a week.
Ironing (if possible) once a week.
Clean out the bathroom once a week.
Sorting out the rubbish newspapers and magazines twice a week.
Dusting of living and dining room.
I used to get £15 per week for the following;
Dusting and vacumming of down stairs twice a week.
Ironing once a week.
Two was loads a week.
Walking, cleaning, feeding & watering of pets.
Cleaning the bathroom once a week.
Wash up, drying and put away of all dishes every week day.
Prepare and cook a meal for 4 at least 4 times a week.
Taking out all rubish whenever necessary.
Look and care you my younger bro every weekday after school till parents got home from work, and help with homework if possible.
Clearing rubbish and leaves from garden.
1 nights babysitting if parents decided to go out.
I did this from age 12, was taught quickly by my mother and am still in a good routine now, though I am now 24 and now think why did I do all that? I, myself was still a kid. lol, nevermind hey?
10
I would say 10 dollars.Clean his room,do his laundray, clean his bathroom (if he has one),do his home work, any others things that need to be done.Good luck!
my son gets £6.00 keep his room cean and wash his plates he uses
I've always had to do household chores...dusting, vacuuming, dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, etc.
I'm 14
My parents stopped giving me allowance...i don't believe in more than $5 a week.
try a paper route so that your child can earn money individually
clean up, trash, dishes for 5$ max. they probably say 'my friend gets 15 i only get 5 can i have more' but probably not true even if it is true why give 15$ per week to your child. Make him pass some papers thats what I did for 8 years to get money no money from my parents
I'm sixteen and the only allowance I get is 10 dollars. I have to do the dishes, clean the kitchen, sweep the floors, vaccuum the living room, keep the bird cages clean, keep the laundry going, keep my room and the bathroom clean. basically the whole house. But in order to get that I have to do ALL of them EVERY day of the week without my mom telling me to do them. So obviously, I don't get much money because she's really picky. If I didn't do it on Tuesday or whatever, then I don't get my money.
Considering your kid is 10-11, DEFINITELY tone it down a little. Have them help you with the dishes, take out the trash, maybe help out with folding laundry, and keep their room clean. They could also probably vaccuum, but it depends how many chores you think are enough for them. Um, I'd say give them about 5-10 bucks. And please, don't treat chores like my mom does... give them a break. It sucks working so hard all week and find out you don't get your money because the dishes weren't done one day. Have fun. =)
dependant on how well they behave, and the little jobs that they can do like washing dishes, hovvering, and generally keeping the up keep of the house to a reasonable standard
When I was 11 I used 2 get £5 a week pocket money. I had to help around the house with the dishes, tidying my room, and any mess I made round the house, hoovering and polishing. My cousin gives her 10 year old £10 a week and also buys her anything she wants, which has led to her being a very spoilt child. Sit your child down and talk to them, telling them you will give them pocket money in exchange for household chores, and see what sort of thing they think they will be able to do
if u give them as much as they like they they will be confatable n go out when they want to woth friends cus they got money, but i never got any n i hustled, somtime i didnt go with mate when they went out but that made want to get a job n start earin so ur choice
