Because women don't have one and haven't had to experience that. I have two brothers and I never knew it until one of my brothers told me that it happens.
Just like you don't know what it looks like or feels like to have a period.

I knew this, since 8th grade.
They also shrink up if a mans been riding a bike, or sitting on something else like that for a long time. They get all tiny and tucked up in there.
Besides, women who judge men based on penis size are no better than the shallow men who judge women based on bra size.
Because when is the last time you have been freezing cold, pulled down your pants and said "Hey! Look at this! My penis shrinks when I get cold!!" ?

A person can only know what they have been taught or experienced first-hand. Clearly a woman cannot experience "shrinkage" first-hand so some has to tell her. I don't remember that ever coming up in biology either, so don't be too hard on women, especially if they didn't grow up with brothers. I didn't have any brothers, so a lot of male trivia I didn't know until after I became intimate with men at an older age.

It doesn't really shrink, it just draws up close to the body for warmth so it appears significantly smaller or shriveled. Most women don't know this because *newsflash* women don't have penises. I'm sure there are many many things about 'ginas that men don't know!!

I would have to agree with Neeners! Although I did grow up with a brother, but I never found that out from him. People, men and women, are always being faulted for things like this. They shouldn't. How can we be faulted for something we were never educated about?

I have known this for a long time because I took it upon myself to learn about the male and female bodies. But why would you expect us to know this? We do not have penises so therefore we would not know. Do you know everything that happens to us in certain temperatures? Do you even know what most of our parts are called?
