When discharge is brown, it usually means (for me, anyway) that you'll get you're going to get your period VERY soon (a few days or weeks), or you're having a tiny period. I've been getting discharge for two years now.
I don't really know the point of discharge, but someone here once said that it helps protect your vagina and keep it healthy...all I know is that it's what happens when your period is coming soon!
Sounds definately like you're spotting! Girl, you're fixin' to start your period very soon! ----my only solution is to start putting pads or pantiliners in your underwear, just in case!!!

yes that is a sign of your period coming and as far as discharge yes that is what it is. and the point of discharge has to do with ovulation. ovulation is when you become fertile( when you can get pregnant) and certain types of discharge help the process of getting pregnant. and can also help you know if you are ovulating. It is just hormones and ovulation. that is all I think it is there for.
yeah i got discharge too when i almost got my period...im 11 too.discharge is when the outer lining of like inside there...is like coming out...i think or something like that...oh yeah and one last thing..theres this site for girls our age www.beinggirl.com and it has stories and answers of things like this or like if you like a guy or something like that..its cool check it out...

well, the yellow stuff is discharge. but the brown stuff is acctually dried blood. i remember my first time, my blood was all brown and sticky.
