You should probably stick with the Dramamin pills, even if they might not work. Motion sickness is an inherited trait, so sometimes it will go away, and sometimes its there to stay. (LOL i rhymed). You can also find herbs and homemade remedies that work.
Were you by any chance looking out the window ? If so try focusing on something in the car with you ( something thats not moving), if you have to look out only look at things that are distant from you. In other words don't sit and watch the trees beside the car go passing by or the lines on the road zip passed. Look at something far off in front of you.
If you can always sit in the front or as close to the front as possible and look out the front window.
People say you can put newspapers under your blouse. Probably an old wives tale, but you sound desperate so you could try it. I don't see why a doctor cannot prescribe something though?
Motion sickness is one of those things that fades in and out of your life forever. It's perfectly normal, but if you're really concerned you may want to see a doctor. They may be able to perscribe you something that will really work.
ride in front or driving is better. look at the horizon and try to stay balanced.
