Im worried that my baby will be discriminated against when they are born?

me and my fiance recently i discovered that i was pregnant. Im not worried about having a child or whatever, im worried that he/she will be picked on in later life because they will be mixed race they would be half chinese half white. Do you think this will happen?

Answer:
Probably not!

My best friend in the whole word has a baby. She's Chinese and her husband is white ... he even has blond hair and blue eyes, the works. The baby really is BEAUTIFUL! She has jet black hair so people think she looks a little more Chinese than white. But when I look at her I see both.

When her dad takes her out by himself, yeah, sometimes people think she's adopted from China or whatever. They ask stupid questions. But once he explains it they start going on about how pretty she is, how pretty her mom must be, etc. When they go out together they hardly ever get dumb questions. Everybody wants to know how they met and say what a pretty baby she is.

Even teenagers think he's beautiful. So nobody will make fun of her when she's in high school. Young adults think she's very pretty and always want to hold her. The only people who don't like her are older Asian people who don't think my friend should have married her white husband ... you know, the traditional kind. But even those are polite about it.

I wouldn't worry!

Good luck with your pregnancy, congratulations, and enjoy your beautiful baby when he/she comes.
No, it's so common these days to have biracial children that no one thinks twice. My sister is married to a chinese man and they have two beautiful little girls. Good luck.
Its 2006!! The baby will be fine.Unique if anything :O)
you can not really control the ignorant people in this world u can only deal with it. Just let ur child know that they are strong and to be prud of who they are.
this day and time I don't think so, there a lot of racially mixed people now. I wouldn't worry about it.
It's possible but I think more people are becoming more accepting of things. And if they don't then they have problems. Just teach your child to love everyone no matter what race they are.
It doesnt matter if you're white, black, chinese, mixed or anything else because people will still find something to make fun of. Thats just how people are. I don't see why people think they have to make fun of people anyway. I personally think they have to put people down because they are insecure about themselves. Your baby is going to be a beautiful baby and grow into a wonderful adult. I wouldn't worry about what everyone else says. Aslong as you raise your child with a good head on their shoulders don't worry about it and they shouldn't either.
I really don't think you have to much too worry about.
Picking on someone because of their race is getting less and less common each day.

They will probably be extremly handsome/pretty and you'll have to fight the boys or girls off because of it =)

Don't worry about things like that just be happy your pregnant and hope for a healthy happy baby!
Yes. Of course it will. But ignorant hateful people will always find something to pick at no matter what race your child is.
I don't think this will happen. If anything, this will make the child more popular at school. kids now days like kids out side of their own race! Girla or boys like to date kids like this also.
They might.

Or your child might be picked on for being smart or fat or liking dorky music or being bad at kickball or having bad fashion sense or picking their nose or or or or.

Kids get picked on.

What you need to do as a parent is help them learn how to deal with the unfair things that happen in the world, and love them, and teach them how special they are.

You can't wrap them in cotton and keep them from getting hurt.
i have two girls, who are mixed race. half hispanic half white. there dad was adopted by a white couple when he was 2. the only issue we have encountered, is people that assume because my girls are hispanic, it means they can speak spanish. i have never had a problem with them being discriminated against though. i was prepared for it. we do sometimes get looks from people, but those people can keep looking..
LISTEN SWEETHEART THIS IS A GODS GIFT TO THERE ARE SO MANY WOMEN OUT THERE THAT CANT EVEN HAVE LITTLE ONES , YOU DONT WORRY ABOUT OTHERS AND WHAT THEY SAY THIS IS YOUR BLESSING AND YOUR BABY WILL BE FINE JUST LOVE HIM OR HER AND TEACH YOUR BABY THERE IS LOTS OF LOVE TO GO AROUND FOR HIM OR HER DONT WORRY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A WONDERFUL BUNDLE IN YOUR ARMS TO LOVE AND TEACH . DONT WORRY ABOUT OTHERS .
Thats hard to answer. Because there are some very mean kids in this world, and thats thanks to there parents. Its hard to say that they won't be picked on but I would hope not. Just remember to love your children unconditionly and give them all the love in the world, and teach them better than other parents teach their kids. Let them know that everyone bleeds red and that no one gets to pick what they look like, who there going to be, their weight, etc. And let them know to NEVER be ashamed of where they came from!
Relax. Your child wasn't born yet, you don't know what he or she will look like. Anyway, depends on you how the child react to discrimination. I belong to a minority, and if somebody discriminate against me, doesn't bother me. Is the other person's problem.
First off Congrats to you and your fiance. Its more common today for bi-racial children. But that isn't to say there isn't bigots in the world. No matter what people have to deal with small minded people may it be for race, handicaps, or anything. Its there we cant fully change it. All you can do is teach your child to grow up to be accepting to show them love and how beautiful they are inside and out. Show them acceptance and teach them that no matter what there is evil and good in this world and not everyone is going to be accepting and not everyone is going to be kind. But for everyone hateful person they will find two loving people. Good luck to you and your fiance and all your future children!
I took my baby
On a Saturday bang
Boy is that girl with you
Yes we're one and the same

Now I believe in miracles
And a miracle
Has happened tonight

But, if
You're thinkin'
About my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

They print my message
In the saturday sun
I had to tell them
I ain't second to none

And I told about equality
And it's true
Either you're wrong
Or you're right

But, if
You're thinkin'
About my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

I am tired of this devil
I am tired of this stuff
I am tired of this business
Sew when the
Going gets rough
I ain't scared of
Your brother
I ain't scared of no sheets
I ain't scare of nobody
Girl when the
Goin' gets mean

It's a turf war
On a global scale
I'd rather hear both sides
Of the tale
See, it's not about races
Just places
Faces
Where your blood
Comes from
Is where your space is
I've seen the bright
Get duller
I'm not going to spend
My life being a color

Don't tell me you agree with me
When I saw you kicking dirt in my eye

But, if
You're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're black or white

I said if
You're thinkin' of
Being my baby
It don't matter if you're black or white

I said if
You're thinkin' of
Being my brother
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

Ooh, ooh
Yea, yea, yea now
Ooh, ooh
Yea, yea, yea now

It's black, it's white
It's tough for you
To get by
It's black , it's white, whoo

It's black, it's white
It's tough for you
To get by
It's black , it's white, whoo
There is always going to be someone out there that is going to be a jerk and say something but i would not worry about it as long as you are giving your child a loving safe home then it is all going to be alright teach your children to be strong independent children and they will be able to handle all the stupid people in this world
no. i have two friend like that and they fit in perfectly.
For the most part I don't think you will have a problem.Of course there will still be people that will look down on it but f uck them.My 2 kids are mixed white and hispanic.
NO I DONT THINK THEY WILL BECAUSE THERE ARE LOTS OF BIRACIAL PEOPLE OUT THERE.
I know a half Chinese half white guy and I couldn't even tell intil I met his mom! And don't worry about it just make sure you don't freek aout about it infront of the child but also explain to the kid when they get older people say mean things about full whites or blacks ir anyone!
I think guys are gonna love her or girls will looove him. My baby is going to be half Puerto Rican and half black. Just make sure that when it is old enough you explain to he or she the culture.
I doubt it, but incase it does become an issue at any point teach your child from the beginning to love the person they are. Everyone gets picked on but this is 2006, and people are a lot more open minded and hopefully only more so to come.
There are people across the street from me and they are half peurtorican and half korean. All three of the girls are so cute! They are very pretty. I don't think it will really matter, though. Today there are a lot of biracial kids being born today.
Psshh...Noone will descriminate them. Im puerto rican white black...well a little of everything! I have no problems wit descrimination in life.
This happens to people who aren't even mixed. People just love to talk about others which I think is STUPID, but it happens everyday. As much as I hate people discriminating others, I sometimes do it my self but just not as bad like... look at that big zit on her face. It's not cool but everyone is bound to do it someday/sometime. Good Luck and tell your kids not to be afraid to stick up for themselves and to love who they are.
