Any other parents, That chose 'unique' or what others consider 'odd' names for their children?

Let's hear 'em...I got e-mailed a list of the 'Top 100 Names for Boys and Girls 2006' list, And thankfully, None of my childrens 'first' names were on it. :] Which is what I was striving for...

Anyone else have a uniquely named child? :]

Wow, some of those surprised me! Avery? Addison? I never heard those names before for girls!
How about Shamesheia, Courtnaey, Nneenna, Dunyaska, Dayartae or Simora for a girl and Delacey or Deyarian for boys. is that unique enough. those are my kids, and neices and nephew names.
My youngest daughter's name is #16 on the list, except hers is spelled a little different. Her name is Aalyssa Kathryn. My oldest daughter's name is Aaliyah Ann. f we ever have another daughter, I want to step away from the Aa names. I love the name Samara Raine. My girls got their middle names from family members. My middle name is Ann and so is my mom's. Aalyssa got her middle name from her grandma and great-grandma. Grandma's name is Kathleen and great-grandma's name is Kathryn. I like the somewhat different names.
The names I like aren't on there, for girl or boy.

Jessalyn and Colby.

I also like Savanna and Logan which are on there, but oh well, you've got to go with what you like and hopefully won't scar the kid for life! :)

I like your kids names.
Lindsay, and Miranda
my girls are Jacelyn Victoria and Alice Mary Marie my new one will be either Mazzy or Mena Jones <====middle name or Eli Alberic, i don;t think any of those at all are on there
Here's one you won't here often: Tabicia... Its a cross between Tabitha and Tricia. Then there's Elery, which I am still trying to figure out...
I went traditional though and named mine Dylan Michael... :o)
My oldest son's name is "Kaz" (very old Slavic/Scandanavian).

My youngest son's name is "Kenneth Morgan" and, even at 23, everyone still calls him "Kenny".

I also have a stepdaughter named "Lena" (pronounced "Lay-na"), which I think is a very pretty and uncommon name.

Oh, and my first name is "Anda" - named after my Danish Grandmother who once told me that when she was a child she didn't like her name because it was sooo old fashioned. Today, even in Denmark, it is very uncommon.
I used to work a a day care where there was a little girl named Rhiannon (ree-Ann-en). At first it was a little hard to wrap my tongue around it, but now I really like it.
hi used to work with a girl who's name was Rebel Blu and one of my friends called there daughter Sebrose which is the joining of Sebastian and Rose.
one of my guy friends has a unique name: Cayvon it sounds like it is spelled and my name is kassandra as a girl but most spell it with a "c"
My name is Camille Yvonne. I was named after my great grandfather (he was french) and my grandmother.
I am a woman, by the way.
My son is Keegan William and my 2 neices are Fern Denali and Lillian (Lily) May. My nephew is Theodore (Ted or Teddy) Benedict. I love all their names. Not too bizarre but uncommon enough. Lily is fairly common these days but not Lillian.
I have Elias and Benjamin. Both boys were given my step dad ( who raised me)'s last name as a middle name.
My daughter is Mila Consuelo. And if I have another girl it will be Sophia Michele. I love the name Sophia and Michele is my best friend's name.
Annika
my sisters name is Zinnia.

i think unique names are really pretty so im glad you picked cool names!
Mine are Albert and Zachary. My friend's daughter is named Delenn and I have 2 nephews who are named Malakai and Gage.
all my childrens first names are on there(all nine of them) but one middle name isn't michal(pronounced me-how) i love that name and so does he!(my son)
My favorite names are~

Girls-
Sariya
Genesis

Boys-
Jonah
Rylan
We named our son Cavin and people think its unique. Its after my dad Kevin, but we wanted something a little different. I like different names. I know people will be calling him Gavin or Kevin but we'll just keep correcting them:) I went through the same thing and so did my mom. My mom's name is Brynda (pronounced Brinnda) and my name is Elaina (pronounced Elaynah).
Sage is an awesome name! (for a guy)
Lathan, Payton
Drats! My middle child is on that list! (BUT with a different spelling!) I have three soon to be four children.
Joelle Nichole (7 yrs)
Addisyn Lee (5 yrs) and it wasn't common 5 yrs ago!)
Traven Anthony Paul (almost 3)
Baby will be Coldon or Lukas.. I think... BUT it will be different!
My daughter's name is Ailsa. Pronounced Ale-sa. I have never heard this name before but we actually found it in a book. Everyone calls her Alisa (allyssa) though. I guess they think we can't spell our own child's name? Oh well, we like it and it is actually a traditional name. I guess it is too old to be in use anymore?
You called your child Rude? Enough said. I would rather name my child something "normal" than have my child put up with ridicule it's whole life. I had a friend who had an unusual name and the tormenting got so bad she had to change it by deed poll when she got to age 13 as she was literally in tears every day at school with people making fun of her. i don't care if one of my first names appears on a most popular list, I'd rather have a name that most people could pronounce than be called something stupid, just because my parents wanted to be "different", well it's ok for them to want to be "different" because it's not them that have been given a stupid name!
YEP!! my girls are kricket and kandalynn
While I'm too young to have children yet, the names I plan on using are somewhat unique. . .

For a girl, my choices are: Lilia, Noa (which IS a girls name; it means "motion" from the Hebrew name No'ah or Noah while the masculine name means "rest, comfort" from the Hebrew word "Noach"), Samara, or Sawyer

My masculine choices are somewhat more conventional; Sebastian, Luca or Luka, Orrin, or Ulrich.
My 3-year-old girl is name Amber and my 1-month-old girl is Kaylynn
I am wanting to give my comming childa unique and/or odd name but i cant find one i like...Any help?? anyone?

Nathaniel Preston is my oldest.

Morgin Ashlynn is my daughters name both are on the list but Morgin is spelled different and also pronounced different it has more emphasis on the i.
