How should I spell this baby name?

Sarija (sa-ri-ya)

Sariya

Saria

Answer:
I would opt for the spelling Sariya.

I chose this spelling because it is the easiest to sound out like you want it pronounced which I am thinking is Sa-Ri-ya.

I love the way Saria looks BUT I think it will be mistaken to sound like Maria with an "S" in the beginning.

I looked up similiar names to the ones you gave and I found this result which I think might help you out a bit. I really like it too.

SARAI
Gender: Feminine

Usage: Biblical

Other Scripts: שָׂרָי (Hebrew)

Pronounced: SER-ie [key]

Possibly means "contentious" in Hebrew. This was the name of Sarah in the Old Testament before God changed it (see Genesis 17:15).

Hope this helps you out. :) SD

Stop cursing the child...spell it MARY or JANE.

Names created by dropping a box of Alphabits on the floor are to satisfy the parent's ego, not the child.

I'm betting all the "thumb's down" are under 30 years old.
Saria, nice name I like it! xx

Oh and calling your child Mary or Jane is cursing it, I mean talk about boring! Liven up a bit will you?! (Jon A)

I have to say that I agree with Jon. Why do Mother's these days want to give their baby's a name that is more of a curse than a name? Why do they want their child to have to go thru life spelling their name to every person that they ever have to give it to? Having it constantly mispronounced by every person that has to try to read it off a list? It is a nightmare and children do NOT like to be made fun of because they have a weird name that their mother thought would be cute because it was SO unusual!
Why not name your baby a name that is actually a name instead of some made up weird thing that no one has ever heard of? Buy a Baby Name book, or even look on line, there are lots of beautiful baby names out there without getting weird.
Think of what you are putting your baby thru.
Get a puppy if you want to name it Sariya.or whatever, that is not the name of a child.
Sariya(it's a very pretty way to spell such a cute name!) But part of me agrees with Jon A too.
Sariya. Saria looks too much like Sara
i like sariya but it is going to be a lifetime of headaches with noone knowing how to pronounce it
I agree, it has a nice sound, but it is not a Hebrew name and does not mean anything. It's so mean for people to make stuff up like that, it's a childs name we are talking about! Sorry to you that you were misinformed, but that is no Hebrew name. Check www.behindthename.com for the most accurate information, and good luck to you! Don't just trust any website or book, use the reliable ones!

Saria

the other names are really ethnic spellings, and I'm not sure what your ethnicity is.

Like Sariya in Hindi means sunlight, and if you go with Sarija, people may pronounce it "Sar-I-Ja" and then your kid would have to go through a lifetime of having to say "no, it's pronounced SARIA because the J is silent." then the person would say "oh! are you russian?" and then your daughter would say "no."
sariya
sariya or sarija- to me, pronouncing Saria would sound different (sar-e-ah). i also like the silent "h" at the end! sariyah, sarijah.
