Maria is great, but very common; Marina is.well.... Other names include Mariana, Mara, Maryanne, and Mari (pronounced MAR-ee)

I think half of the world's women are named some variation of Maria (Mary, Marie, etc)...so for that reason I think Marina is nicer. The only thing wrong with Marina is that is it the word for the place you dock your boat! Sounds like you are into feminine, classic names...what about Mariana, Sofia, Sonya, Maribelle, Mariam, or (not to be biased or anything..) Julia?

I think, if you are having twins (if you are), you should give them individual names, just like they have individual personalities. Marina is a nice name, I also like the name Carina or Karina.
