Is Nguyen a good name for a boy?

He is not Asian. Just always liked the name.

Answer:
If he is not Asian, he will get questions his entire life about his name. Wouldn't want to do that to a kid.
Umm, Yeah .
hmm, it sounds okay. if you like it, then go for it! =)
I've only ever heard of girls named that. Take it from someone who has hated their real name, give the kid a name that's not overly common, but relatively easy to spell.
I thought this is a last name.
I'm not sure how it goes for first names.
I have no idea how to prounce it, so I can't say if I like it or not
Honestly? NO! I think that teachers in school will have a hard time pronouncing it...But its what you like of course :)
I always thought it was a last name pronounce wind. I could be wrong though I went to school with people who had that last name I dont think I would name my son Wind.
To each their own though. goodluck
i dont like it sorry
No. Take it from someone who has a name loaded with stereotypes! Throughout their lives they will be asked if they are Vietnamese; or worse it will be ASSUMED that they are Vietnamese. Nothing against Vietnamese people, but I KNOW what its like to have a name that's loaded--and the US is subjectively racist.
Dont know how to say it ? Just give him a name like James.
No, most people don't even know it's pronounced like the word When with an N in the front.

Don't do that to your son.
I have known many people named Nguyen, but it was always a surname, never ever a first name. This is the first time I've heard of it as a first name actually.
No. Give him a unique name, but give him a name he'll be proud of. I mean, how many times will he have to say, "no, I'm not Asian"?
i have no idea how to pronunce it..so maybe maybe not sorry can't tell you!
no
It's hard to pronounce and it's not that great to me. There are many more nice names you can choose from. Good Luck!
Well, I guess if "Lee" is a good name for a boy--both are Asian surnames.
Isn't that a Vietnamese last name? Or one from another Asian country?

That's a horrible name for someone who is not Asian...get real. I would feel sorry for any little white or non-Asian boy named Nguyen.
thats my professor's last name, so for a first name, would doubt it
Do you pronounce it ng-win? I've only ever heard of it as a last name- Dat Nguyen of the Dallas Cowboys but they usually say it N-you-jen. It's not my taste but whatever.
thats a last name actually..
I really don't like that one. Have u asked ur family what they think?
not really. He might have hard time at school with this name
Ya definitely, if you want him to grow up with a cow as his best friend.
Nguyen is also a vietnamese first name. But you're kid will have a hard time to correct and pronounce to people. Also if you're last name is not Nguyen, people will confuse with last name instead.
But hey, you're the parent, name whatever you like.
i guess so.if you like it.
eeerm... no!
How would you prononce that? How would everybody else pronounce that? Perhaps he could have that as a middle name
It is a good name for a fighter who sought revenge by killing his oppresors in a novel that i read in 2001. I fell in love with the name evr since then it is a good mane for boys.
i went to high school with a boy with that name. go with your gut. you know what name will be fitting for your child.
