How about a combination of your name and your spouse, places you find memorable or of people you value? My cousin's name, for example, is Rizanor which to her parents meant Rizal and Zamboanga del Norte. I just forgot how those places stood out to them. A co-employee is named Sergen (let's say from her parents, Serge and Genevieve?) and if I remember it correct, somebody born during the election of the new pope in 2005 was named Benedict Paul, a combination of John Paul II and his successor.

My husband and I did not want a common name. The boy name was easy, Thomas Allan. Thomas is ageless name, and not all that common today. The girl name was harder. We agree after eight months Haley Elizabeth. When we name her, Haley, in all of the spelling, with in the top 100 names, but not the top 50. The year she was born Hayley was in the top 20, the next year the top ten. We also did not want a common name, but you may not control it. You can try to find a name you like.
