Another baby boy name question?

My son will be born in January. His name is going to be Richard but we will call him Ricky. I need a good middle name for him. I was gonna go with Gavin, but thats my doctor's name and it's kinda weird to name him after my doctor. I thought of Chase, but that doesn't really flow. I'll spare you the spelling of his last name, but it sounds like Oh-pell-yan. Any suggestions?

You have a two-syllable first name and a three-syllable last name so a one-syllable middle name would probably flow best. How about James?

I love tha name Gavin even if it is your doctor's name. How about Ethan. That sounds nice together.
My dad and brother are Both Ricky Scott. I love the name Ricky! good choice. Also Ricky Jack or Ricky Shawn.
Definatly think it should be one sylable though.
I say go with Gavin if that is what you like. It's just a middle name. I love the name Gavin.

Back years ago it was common practice to name your baby after the Dr. and Nurse that delivered it. My grandma's name is JoAnn for that reason. Joe=Dr. Ann=Nurse. So if you like Gavin go with that.
Richard Chase doesn't sound bad to me, i kinda like it. or you could use Kevin for a middle name, its kinda close to Gavin.

LOL... I went to school with a kid named Ricky Gavin! I don't think its weird to use the same name as the doc... as long as that isn't WHY you're doing it.

I personally like honoring family members with middle names. Have you considered passing down your spouses's name or middle name? How about your father?

I think Chase sounds just fine. I think I personally would prefer a one-syllable middle name.
