We like the nickname Cal, but aren't so sure about Calvin or other "Cal" names we've heard so far. Any ideas?

I had a friend growing up whose name was Caleb, he had a brother named Callen (cal-in).

I think if you like the name Cal, just name the baby Cal. You don't have to have another name and make that a nickname. ( My 3 year old calls them nick-nack-names!)

Or maybe Cal could be the middle name. Andrew Cal sounds good.
Just name him Cal, nothing else. This way there aren't any funny or weirs versions of the "actual" first name. (BTW, Calvin Hayes sounds great in my opinion!)

I have a nephew named Callahan.His middle name is Corby.Personally I don't care for either name.Here are more,Calder,Caley,Calvert and Caleb.I can't think of a good middle name but try not have his Initials be C.C.H. or C.H.H.My nephews last name begins with an H. Imagine your son's name as Callahan Corby Hayes.Well it just doesn't roll very nice!
For a girl you could have Ja-Cal-yn, instead of the usual spelling of Jacqueline. and you could just name the boy Cal, I like that by itself.

I like Cal alot... why cant you justname the child Cal? Why dse it need a longer name to shorten to Cal? If thats what you want to name him, then just name him that alone... I like it... Pair it with a longder middle name, like Cal Nicholas, Michael, Joshua, Christopher, something llike that...
You could use Calder or Calisto or Calhoun.
You could also use Caelan...I could definitely see the nickname Cal with that name.
