Addie is my favorite character on Grey's Anatomy, too. But Addison is a boy's name! It literally means "Adam's son".
Adeline (My favorite), Adelyn, Adalaide, Adrienne, Ada, and Adelle are decent feminine alternatives.
I think it's pretty. I've never watched that show though.

I like that name also..I had this same thing happen when I named my daughter Alexis..everyone thought it was after a character on a show but I had never seen the show. Now her name is very common but it fits her.. ;)

I like it! There's a little girl in my kid's homeschool co-op named Addison, they call her "Addy" sometimes. And I like Addison on Grey's Anatomy too.
Whatever hapened to MARY and JANE and SUSIE - I would not name my kid after a disease that John F. Kennedy had ( addison's disease ) Or the old man that lived next door to Wilbur Post on the Mr. Ed show

I don't watch that show, but I like the name. I don't like "Madisson" though because it gets shortened to "Maddy"... Addison, Amelia, Abigail and Allison are all very pretty,
blehh i dont. but it is totally up to you. also kids at school are harsh maybe addi-son might be an easy nam to pick on :(. anyway congratz on the baby! and if you like it then go for it.
to be honest,no i don't really like it.i mean there are much nicer names.it's can mistake it for Edison.but still it's your choice.and you shouldn't just choose the name because of your favorite character.you should choose a name that your daughter will like too.

Addison is my son's name. Though there is alot of girls with it now. It means son of Adam. So I would say I love the name. It fits my son just perfect.. but then again I am bias and think he is perfect anyways.. :) Good luck and the name is great!

Unfortunately, as someone mentioned, there is something called Addison's disease, but most people don't know that. I think it's a really nice name. It sounds both pretty and strong to me.

You and most of America will be calling their child that name. I like it but it's not going to be unique and as long as you are okay with that, go for it. I love the name Meredith and I may still use it if I have a girl.
