Is chocolate bad for u while breastfeeding?
Answer:
It has been linked to a gassy baby...so it may or may not be a problem for your baby.I ate a little of it and my son didn't care.
If my friend ate ANY her daughter went NUTS!
The caffiene can make the baby hyper or make your milk bitter and the baby won't like it.
But, like I said in moderation it shouldn't be an issue.
It is not "good" though.
i dont think so...infact i think its good
Hi! I heard the opposite. My mom always said it made her feel calmed down and it helps produce more milk. I never stopped eating chocolate with my kids. See Ya!
yes, I still remember the Nurse told me not to eat too much chocolate when pregnant..it has something to do with being hyper of the baby..not sure...but it is true...you could eat but not too much..I remember I could eat a FAMILY size Hershey bar in one sitting! YUMMMMM!!
There are no real "bad" foods. If your body reacts badly to something then don't eat it while breastfeeding or offer it to your baby once offering solds.
If you like chocolate- which I am a chocoholic-eat some. If you like garlic or spicy foods-eat up. Just remeber everything is fine in moderation.
If you like an occasional beer-have one. When the baby is newborn Ialways recommend that you have a drink immediately following a feeding. But with newborns thay may want to nurse again in 15 minutes and this is perfectly fine.
So again, moderation. If you want a piece of cake have one, orange juice, soda coffee go for it.Just try to drink at least 8 glasses of fluids- water, juices, tea..
anything your body craves, you should give it, because it knows what it needs.
however
anything in excess is not only morally wrong, but can be harmful
so? eat some chocolate. it's delicious. don't eat too much though, save some for later!
yes you shouldent eat choclet while breastfeeding
It's not bad for you but it could give your baby diarrhea. Anything spicy or rich will effect your breast milk.
it is a direct source for your baby to the caffiene from the chocolate. Some mothers drink sodas with caffene and eat chocolate candy bars, then breast feed their baby and can't figure out why the baby doesn't sleep well. Go figure! They don't realize that what you eat and drink goes into your breast milk and the baby, being so much smaller, gets a bigger dose than you realize. Be careful.
I have never heard of chocolate being bad for you when you breast-feed. However if it is, the only thing within chocolate that could be bad for you is called the stimulant.
Check it out.

Chocolate isn't inherently bad. The reason some people will tell you to avoid chocolate while breastfeeding is because your baby may have a reaction to it from your milk. Most babies have no trouble with it, but it can be a source of fussiness for some, like a food allergy. My baby had no issues when I ate chocolate.
Hope this helps! =)
No, chocolate is fine. Just monitor your baby to make sure he doesn't have a reaction. If so, just cut out the chocolate for a while.
It's not bad for you.
It might be uncomfortable for the baby, depends on the baby.
My babies always had a reaction when I was nursing and ate chocolate.
