1 year old suddenly becoming a fussy eater?
Answer:
At this point of time, kid want attention and get distracted easily. Not to be forceful, bring them to eat with other kids or let them enjoy their meals with toys or their favourite TV show etc, distract them off that it is tie to eating. While eating, praise them tell them how nice the food is give them reward when they finish food. Alternatively, make the food or utensils really attractive! Else last choice, you have to eat with him showing to him that food is so tasty and it is natural to eat even mummy. Handling with kids is quite headache sometime, but they are lovable.
a few things could affect this he could be teething where as hes not really hungry and is more fussy than anything. the other possiblilty is that his taste buds are developing and hes starting to have likes and dislikes. the only thing you can do is change is up as much as possible, even change the plate or bowl you put it in. this sounds silly but sometimes they are bored with what your giving them and the reason is because of the same old bowl and plate. try adding cheese to the crackers or green beans in his mac and cheese, change the scenery a little bit. have him sit at the other side of the table in his highchair, small changes can make big differences. my son is 19 months and the same thing happened he would only ask for cereal all the time and eat nothign else where as 6 months ago hed eat anything in front of him. but then i started doign things differently like lettign him hold the whole banana (and with me watching him) he would eat it himself instead of me cutting it up, i put his spaghetti in a regular bowl instead of an elmo, i stopped dicing his chicken nuggets and let him eat the whole ones on his own. this might be difficutl for you if your son doesnt have his molars yet but im just trying to show you that you need to try something new until you see the click. good luck!!
