Not to tell them they are loved. Also if the parent never praises the child. ;)
abuse of any kind. i saw a guy on the news last night that used a taser on his 18 month old. how sick is that.
abandon them. the child is scarred for life.
Smoke, abuse (mentally, physically, sexually).
Capital punishment (hitting them).
to abuse them is going to be the no brainer but i think the worst thing that a parent can do is to abandon their child.

Not being honest with them will hurt them forever, they are more resilient than you think. Give them the honest low down-with tack-when they ask you a question. Not only will they respect that about you it will let them know you re a person too and in this world with them with all its ups and downs.
I know of two things:
1.Be a hypocrite. You know - the "do as I say, not as I do" type. Kids learn by example and more parents should set a positive example for their kids.
2. Ignore their child. So many familes don't spend any time together - and so few actually have dinner together on a regular basis. I think that sucks!
Any kind of abuse is the worst! Not feeding them when theyre being brats (theres people that actually do this). Locking them in closets. Stuff like that!
not to love them and give them the support, love, knowledge and care to become independent successful adults. (that means no abuse, either physical or mental, no to anything you feel is wrong)
