I just had a baby , how long do i have to wait before i can start working out again??
Answer:
Don't wait! Start out with light exercise and if anything bothers you, stop doing that exercise. Your body will recuperate faster if you are strengthening those muscles!
Plus, think of the weight loss...and your baby will have a happy trim mommy...
That's a personal decision, although many people tend to go back after 6-8 weeks. Are you getting benefits while not working?
Ooops sorry thought you said working again..in that case I was told a month to six weeks for hard stuff..and sooner for things like light walking, exercise bike, ball, etc.
Most OBs say you can start light exercise 6 weeks after, however ask your OB as complications etc can cause a later start date
i've got a pole with two medicine balls you can start working out on just sit on it and i will do all the work.
if you are sound and strong you can go out in 3weeks or a month.
You can go back as soon as your ready to. It wont hurt to go back to working out even today. Just make shure it dosent hurt you in any way. If it does wait 1 month longer!
let your body tell you, but i aways waited 8wks or when you stop bleeding.

Check with your Dr. Your body will also let you know. I tried to start walking too soon after having twins- bad idea. Take it a little at a time.
I recommend waiting at least a month. You need to let your body recoperate. I thought i could start excercising a week after i had a baby, boy was i wrong. I hurt every where. It took me about a month for the body to get use to excerising again.
