What is the best way to disipline your children?

I have a 2 year old who gets into everything. She writes all over everything (I dont know how she gets pens and stuff because I have them all up very high.. lol). She throws fits when she doesn't get her way. And she throws everything everywhere. And it is very hard to get her to go to sleep. She wants to stay up until midnight! And I gave up on potty training because she will poop or pee right next to the potty but not in it. And I got her a really neat potty too.
I dont want to spank her or yell at her but I dont know what else to do.

Answer:
You are going to have to do something. I don't know of any other ways to discipline than to spank and time-out. You don't have to spank hard, it won't take much, you don't have to hit hard enough to hurt them because it will hurt their feelings before the spanking will actually hurt them physically, they know you are upset at what they did and and they will remember it more than sitting them in time-out or anything like that. It will be hard on you to discipline her but you are going to have to figure out something that works best for her otherwise you will def. regret it when she gets older.
