What are the signs that labor is about to happen/?
38 weeks pregnant
Answer:
Yep, but you could just be sick. Your body gets rid of food instead of digesting it so it can use all its energy for labor. If you start having back pain, or your tummy gets hard, those are called contractions. Time them. If your pregnancy is going well, and you don't hve group B strep, go to the hospital either when your contractions (from the end of one to the beginning of the next) are 3-5 minutes apart or when you become uncomfortable. Also, a sign may be your water breaking, but that happens to about 1 in 10 women, some studies say 1 in 5. If your water breaks, call your doc/ midwife.
yes its your bodys way of getting ready
Throwing up is one of the ways that helps cervix dilate. You are 38 weeks pregnant, so it is very possible that you are progressing into active labor. If you are having regular contractions, even several minutes apart, I would suggest that you go to the hospital. If there are no contractions, you might want to call your doctor anyway, just to be safe.
If vomiting is the only symptom you have, no.
Some common signs:
Bloody show/increased vaginal discharge
Greatly increased pelvic pressure
Frequent bowel movements
Feeling the baby has "dropped"
More frequent urination
"Nesting instinct"
Painful uterine contractions begin
Water breaks/membranes rupture
The onset of labour is different for every mother and every pregnancy. Some may have all these signs, some may have only one or two.
If you continue to vomit and are unable to keep any fluids down, you may be ill with something. Stomach 'flu' or food poisoning. Go to the hospital. If it is not bad and you can drink without getting sick, just make sure the baby is moving well. If you have complications in your pregnancy like diabetes or high blood pressure and this vomiting persists, go to the hospital.
there are quite a few signs of going into labour. I havnt heard of throwing up being one. Most common i think would be stomach cramps and water breaking. just hang in there the baby will come when its ready and im sure you will know when your in labour. try not to stress too much ok good luck. i have had four kids and each labour was different..
