To the ladies who have been induced...?
Answer:
I've been induced twice last 3 years for both of my baby girl and boy and now I'm pregnant with my third baby. You need to eat something before you went for labour because you really need lots of energy to keep you going when you're going through the delivery. For my first baby, I ate 3 slices of pizza before they induced me 4 hours later. For my second baby, I ate rice before they induced me one hour later and I did just fine for both of the deliveries. Just eat what you want but moderately just to keep enough energy. Good luck and congratulations.
Don't eat anything after midnight tonight. I drank a cup of coffee in the morning just to get my day started. It didn't affect me at all. Good luck and congratulations.
i wouild eat and drink, you are going to need the nutrients for energy and the hospital usually won't feed you.
they like you to have an empty stomach in case of a csection, which has really good odds of happening with an induction.
When I was induced they told me to eat breakfast before 6:00 AM and my induction was at 8:00 AM (Misaprostil inductions)
I was not able to eat after midnight but she did let me have liquid. I have heard different things from different people though. You could call your physician's office and ask the nurse what is best.
most dr. wouldn't want u to eat just in case they need to do a csection. they think of the worst possible scenerio.
a midwife would want u to eat because they think u will need the energy to bring the baby into the world. they assume that u will give a natural birth.
give your dr. a ring and see what they say
I would just eat a huge dinner tonight. If you go into labor with anything in your tummy, you will most likely throw up. I remember when I was in labor with my first baby..I was STARVING and grabbed a corn muffin out of my midwifes hand. 10 minutes later it came back up. That part of your body shuts down for the most part.
I've never been induced. But, my mom had a c-section and they told her not to eat before she came in. My doctor had told me when I was scheduled for my induction (ended up going into labor on my own) to stop eating at 7 pm the night before. I was going in at 6 am. So, maybe you'll want to give it 12 hours before you go in...depending on when your going in.
Coffee just makes my stomach really upset when I'm nervous. So, you may want to think about that if you get that way too. Once you get admitted you can ask them what you can have. You should be allowed to have ice type stuff like lemon ice and popsicles.
I've been induced 3 times in the last 7 years (most recently about a year and a half ago). Generally the doctor's ruling on eating is, have a light dinner and no food after midnight. Hope this helps.
You can not eat anything after midnight if I remember correctly and the only thing you are aloud to drink are clear liquids such as water.Call your Dr just to make sure what you are aloud to have,I was induced almost 6 years ago so things may have changed since then. Good luck and I hope everything goes well.
You cannot have anything to eat of drink after midnight the night before your induction.
When I was sent to the hospital to get induced, this is what my dr said: "You are not supposed to eat anything, but you will probably be very hungry, and the hospital wiil NOT give you any food, so if you want to make a stop on the way to the hospital, that would probably be a good thing."
PS. I should mention, they sent me to the hospital Thursday night, I was not induced till Friday morning. So aybe that extra time makes a diffrerence.
no. I couldn't eat anything after ten pm the night before. and unfortunately i had a c-section so i couldn't eat anything until the day after I had my daughter
