i need health (medical) coverage for me and my baby. wat i should do?

Answer:
Go to your local Health Department and you and your child should be able to get government assistance.
Either get a job with medical insurance, or buy insurance...im guessing you might be an illegal from your english..if thats the case definatly get yourself a freekin job
Most states have a thing called "healthy kids" Usualy they will approve you no matter what. They want healthy babys. Contact your local welfair office and ask some questions. Its worth a try!
Go to the department of social services, they can give you information about programs to help you. In NY, there is a type of medical coverage for low income people. I think that they will also give you coverage while your pregnant and your baby coverage after birth. They won't cover you after birth unless you're breastfeeding. The government has lots of information. Get to searching now so you can get all your ducks in a row ahead of time.
you probably qualify for medicaid.. .some doctors offices will do the paperwork for you. If not, go to the local department of health or social services.. they will help your apply.
Go to a Planned Parenthood CLinic. They can assist you find the resources available in your area. No one should be denied health coverage during pregnancy regardless of medical coverage.
I was stressing over the same issue a month ago. There is such a thing as a maternity card, it covers all your doctor visits and they have a sweet guarantee. You should give it a look, and see if it is something for you. It also kicks in after the baby is born and covers their expenses, for doctor visits etc..

please tell them taffney green sent you. Thanks! and blessings to you in the coming months
You can go to the Texas Department of Human Serivces and try to get assistance there. The website is listed below.
All the prior answers are fine but incomplete. It takes two to procreate. What about the father?
Definitley go to your state building and apply for aid. (medicaid or whatever program you qualify for) NO ONE will cover you other than Blue Cross Blue Shield and even they will only pay 70 % of the birth related costs. No prenatal care is covered. Additionally, you must have NO care for the "pre-existing" condition for 6 months. (basically like I said, no prenatal care is covered) I know this because I just went through it. I had to get medicaid. The only programs that will cover you are "discount" types and that isn't real insurance. Also, check with the hospital you plan to deliver at. Some of them have income based programs that will discount your final bill, sometimes down to a zero balance. Good luck!
