Natural Birth Control..help?
Answer:
Look up info on the fertility awareness method, NOT the rhythm method. You will need to buy a basal thermometer and take your temp every morning before you get up or anything to keep track of when you are ovulating and check your cervical mucus and position. It sounds like a complete pain at first but it really isn't so bad. If you just track when you are suppose to ovulate based on when you get your period it won't necessairly be the exact date that you do ovulate and you could risk getting pregnant.
You go try the rhythm method or pulling out, learn to chart your cycles on mymonthlycycles.com to know when to avoid sex, but its not very good. Try condoms if nothing else.

Be aware that "natural birth control" in not very effective. But also you MUST have a regualr period, like every 28 days or every 30 days kwim?
Be Careful. You are speaking of th e"Rythm Method" where you avoid intercourse on the fertile days. From what I have heard, it is very tricky..I would look into alternate birth contol methods before I tried that....especially if you are not sure you want a baby.
Are you refering to Natural Family Planning? No I haven't tried it.
I do, however, use the withdrawal which is between 80-96% effective depending on which study you read. Mind you it is rather unsatisfactory in some ways:

Ugh there's a better link about it but I can't find it right now. Anyway there are a few smaller studies that prove it is effective.

I know several people that used the natural birth control method. They have children they were trying to prevent!
Have hubby use condoms, its safer and easier. The natural method is about 20% effective! Not the best odds. You will need several months to find out exactly how your cycle works, and if you have just gone off the BCP then it takes a while for your own cycle to kick in. During that time you need to be using protection - hubby and the condoms. Condoms are the better solution here.
Also, they now make low dose BCP which can alleviate those symptoms you refer to.
The calendar method is very unreliable. Try using condoms and spermicide.
They got a name for folks that use that method,
they call them
MOMMY AND DADDY.
Research "rhythm method". Basically you abstain from sex from day 10 through day 18 of your cycle. If you really don't want a child yet, you should use a condom.
