What is the best way for me to baby proof my 11 months olds room?

Play pens are no longer useful he climbs on everything. I want to be able to let him play in his room without worry. The rest of the house is getting baby proofed as we go (we are moving into a new house and are still unpacking) so i need a SAFE place for him to play.

Any suggestions? No rude comments please.

Answer:
Make sure everything that he can get into is at his level close to the floor. Make sure everything you don't want him to have is high up out of sight. If he sees it he will find a way to climb up and get it. My advice is set it up the way you think will be safe. And then get down on and crawl on his level to see maybe what you might have missed.
crawl around on the floor and look for any dangers.use outlet covers and make sure there are no small things on the ground he could put in his mouth.
i took EVERYTHING out of his room, pretty much. and basically the best way to babyproof is to let him down on the floor and see what he gets into! its a constant thing... we keep opening up the house some more... first the full livingroom, then the kitchen, then the hallway, then his room and ours.
you learn as you go. just take about 2 weeks to really watch him, and that will be more effective than anything you can do.
Get down at your childs level. If you see it, he will try to play with it. Make sure the strings from the blinds are out of reach, cover all plugs. In the baby ilse at the store there are things to place on door knobs, outlets, and drawer lockers. You may not need them now but you will when he starts growing more. Think ahead, he will surprise you with the things he knows at such a young age, Good luck!
