Ovral-L. What is the dosage for Emergency Contraceptions ?
Answer:
Emergency Contraception is actually a misnomer--although it can stop conception (i.e. a new baby from being formed), it can also sometimes stop a new baby which has already been formed from implanting in the uterus. Don't believe me? Read the label that accompanies the drug. More info is below. Also, some try to claim that pregnancy happens at implantation rather than conception, but this does not make sense since then there could be no living animals in eggs that are fertilized and then LAID rather than implanted, and clearly no one wants to eat a fertilized chicken egg--I mean, have you seen one through the light thingy? They're chickens, not breakfast eggs.
Anyway, just taken on the whole--think about it. You are thinking of injesting enough drugs to kill something which is alive inside of you--how could that possibly be healthy for someone, much less their baby in the sad event that the baby does survive (which sometimes happens) and has to live with the long-term health effects of the drug.
Finally, a woman is fertile for about 6 or 7 days in her cycle, so only about 25% of the time woud such an abortifacient be needed to terminate a pregancy anyway---most likely (75% of the time), she is not preg. anyway.
To determine if you are even a canidate for this--are your cycles regular? When was the first day of your last period? From these two questions, one can usually determine if one could have become pregnant anyway.
Good luck and God bless!
You need to talk to an OB-GYN or someone at the Health Department. They could give you the exact dose that you would have to take. You could also get a regular ECP from either of these. (not agreeing or disagreeing with this decision)
