My husband and I are planning to have a baby in the next two years or so, I am worried because?
Answer:
Bacterial Vaginosis At A Glance
Bacterial vaginosis is an abnormal vaginal condition that is characterized by vaginal discharge and results from an overgrowth of normal bacteria in the vagina.
Bacterial vaginosis is not passed by sex and is not dangerous, but it can cause disturbing symptoms.
Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are vaginal discharge and odor.
In diagnosing bacterial vaginosis, it is important to exclude other serious infections, such as gonorrhea and chlamydia.
Treatment options for bacterial vaginosis include oral antibiotics and vaginal gels.
Major serious complications of bacterial vaginosis can occur during pregnancy.
It is unknown what causes Vaginosis, so there is no reason to believe that increased sex will cause it. Your sensitivity down there would not be caused by the prior infection of Vaginosis, if it is treated then you shouldn't have any lasting problems. You may have something else if you are sensitive, so you should try to get that checked out. Unlike what some other people have said who obviosly don't know anything about Vaginosis, you can't pass it on through sex, so your partner doesn't have to worry about anything.
Really, your concern should be whether or not it was every fully treated and whether you have something else more serious. Otherwise, you have no reason to worry about an increased likelyhood of Vaginosis. If you do get pregnant, get tested just to be sure because it can be dangerous to your baby.
im sure the docs will detect that right away and treat you for i before you can cause any effect on the baby
Ask an OB/GYN
Let you OB/GYN know on your first visit that you have concerns. That way he will be prepared and will be on the lookout for any symptoms.
well yes you could get vaginitis again or you could even get other stuff from just being pregnant and the hormonal changes, but so what? When you make the decision to have children you just live thru the problems that come with that, and if you can't be on medication then you can't be on medication. That's the way it is.
Make sure your husband gets checked for it too...women can get treated and then get it again because they give it to their partners without realizing it..Make sure he takes what ever medication you took.don't laugh this is real and it's the truth!
I don't know you, but If I was you I would get the opinion of a doctor, no answer in here will ever compare with the doctor's opinion. In here no body has the chance to make the proper tests to make a health opinion. Go to the doctor, as sooner as better. Good luck.
yes, you might get vaginosis while being pregnant and it should be treated early so you won't pass it to your child. you shouldn't be scared. there are a lot of medications for treating vaginosis and you should consult your doctor. And have your husband checked or treated too coz you might have gotten your vaginosis from him in the 1st place.
talk to an OB/GYN then they will detect it if it will harm the kid and they will treat it dont worry
Was your husband treated for the vaginitis when you had it? If he wasn't its likely that he kept passing it back to you. I'm assuming that you don't have contact with his semen, and your worried that when you do you'll get vaginitis again like before. I'd tell your husband about your concerns and ask him to go to a doctor with you so they can treat him for his bacterial infection so you don't get it again. You could also just be allergic to his semen. A doctor could test you and him for that at the same time. Good luck! Oh, and the website below says that it can be transmitted sexually. I know that when I was working in the adult industry and we got Trich, which is a type of vaginitus, all the partners had to be tested and treated, because Trich is an STD.
