I haven't had my period since november, my home test came out negative but i still haven't gotten my period

I took a test almost 2 weeks ago and it came out negative but i still haven't gotten my period. I'm kinda freaking out over it. I don't know what to do. If I take another home test and it has the same reasult how likely is it that I'm pregnant? I heard that a fear of pregnancy can make you miss your period is that true?

Answer:
Take another on and if it is negative you are not pregnant! Because you'd be 8 to 10 weeks and beleive me it would pick up the hormone!!!!!!!!! Then, I'd see a dr. for the reason I was not starting, which there could be several reasons for that and only the doctor can find that answer!!!!!!!!!
Stress will cause you to skip your period. If you take another test and it is still negative and you still haven't started then you need to go to the doctor and let them run some test.
it could be possible. Also, sometimes the home tests are not as accurate, or they take longer to come out positive. Make sure you look REALLLY close, because the 2nd line could be there, but since its so early, its really faint.
Stress and all sorts of other things can cause you to miss. I one went 5 months without one because of stress. I don't think false negatives are very common or likely at all, especially if it has been this long. You would have gotten a positive for sure. Take another to be certain if it makes you feel better, that is what I did, but from all the research I did, it is VERY rare to be pregnant and get a negative test-practically never happens unless you screw the test up.
you should go see a Doctor maybe your just irregular
u should goto the doctors and get a test done i had a home test and it said negitive to then i wint to the doctors and i was pregnet not all home tests are right
Are many reasons other than pregnancy to lost your period, and the best consult with a obstetrician, And do yourself a favor.DON'T WAIT
Have you lost some weight recently? If you become too thin, you can stop menstruating. This once happened to a family member, and the doctor called it something like "Ballerina Syndrome". She was tiny, then she began exercising a lot for the tennis team in high school. She had a happy ending: the doc put her on birth control pills, and her periods started right up again. One caution, though... it took her five years to become pregnant after getting off the Pill.
The exact same thing happened to my daughter and she finally went to the doctor and she is 41/2 months pregnant. I wonder if the home pregnancy tests are all they are cracked up to be. I would suggest going to the doctor and finding out for sure. And stress can affect any test I believe. But I would go to the doctor and then you can be pretty assured either way.
Hi Rachel, I'm not sure my answer went out. You will feel better when you know what is going on. Call you doctor's office or else call Planned Parenthood for information. It could be other things going on. I am not a medical professional but try calling Planned Parenthood.

if u were pregnant your test would have told u for sure.i didnt had my period since october and it came last week.i was worried to,and i even went to the doctor just to make sure the test i took was good.the doctor asked me if it ever happened before(and it did few years ago i had no period for 3 months) and she told me that some women are like this.it can happen to miss ur period if u are stressed, she advised to wait and it will come.
i really dont think u are pregnant but u sould go for a check-up
good luck
First of all TRY to relax, yes, stress can delay your cycle, or even make you skip it entirely. Have you made any changes in lifestyle over the past couple of months?Started a new diet or a work out program? These types of things can alter your cycle. If it makes you feel better, take another test, if it is negative, chances are 99% valid if you administer the test correctly. Just relax. I would be responsible, and use a condom if decide to have sex until your next cycle, (just in case), however, if you do not get your period within the next week, I would make an appt with your gyno, just to make sure you do not have a blockage, or anything to be concerned with.
a fear of pregnancy can DEF make your period late. This just happened to me. I was a week and a half late and it wasnt until i convinced myself i wasnt pregnant that i got my period! Good luck hun!
well it is becoming more and more common now that ladies miss the cycle more and more. when i was 21 i was told i could not have kids even though a 28 i now have a 10 month old but i was the same i could go a whole year without having a period so get to your GP and get it checked out if your not pregnant when you do your home test as it could be down to the pill like it was with me.
good luck x
