Breastfeeding Help!?
Answer:
Honestly, I avoided all medications while breastfeeding. Luckily, I was careful to take extra good care of myself and did not get sick often, but when I did catch a bug, I just suffered through it and it passed fairly quickly.
Try using a Vicks vaporizer in your bedroom at night. That always seemd to help me. I hope you can find something to ease your condition.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS...it is good you are taking caution, but please contact your local 24 hour pharmacy. DO NOT TRUST YOUR BABIES HEALTH TO EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET IT IS NOT WORTH IT!
Also read the labels on the boxes by law they have to tell you what is transferred into breastmilk...

Don't even waste your time checking back here for answers. Go ahead and call your pharmacist and let him recommend something. If whatever you need has to have a prescription, get that from your Doctor. The baby is number 1 and we all want you to take care of the both of you as thoroughly as possible. Hope you feel better!
I third the first two answers. Call your doctors office and ask. You have to be very careful what you take while you are nursing, I was told you have to be even more careful than when you were pregnant. Call and find out please!. :-)
I would call a pharmecist unless they are closed. You can always call the emergency room and explain your symtoms and ask them what medications are safe. Lot's of medications can be transmitted to the baby through breastmilk.
