I went to the local library when I was pregnant and found a book of African names for babies. They have a book for everything these days. I suggest you find the book to have a larger selection of names to choose from.
Just do a yahoo search on "baby names". You'll come up with plenty of sites that let you search by all kinds of different things. Most let you look for letters (beginning with or ending with) and gender, others have things like origin and meaning. It shouldn't be too hard to find one that does origins. I've been searching on www.todaysparent.com they have a good one, and it's canadian, so i notice it has a lot more really traditional-to-the-country type names than american sites.
You can do that but think about the child. My middle name caused me so much discomfort and teasing in grade school. Clyde was such a joke I changed it.
When in Rome do as the Romans do. That is still very true. Name you child a plain American name at least until they are much old. Remember that old song "A boy named Sue?" Well a name like you are thinking about is for your benefit, NOY your child. Think about my good friend. Kids don't want odd names they want to blend in. Please don't do it. I guarantee you Osama Bama will lose millions of votes with that name. Just reality. Bless you and vote for me again. BC
Aaliyah- means most exhaulted one or highest most exhaulted one
Dayo- meaning "joy arrives"
Makena-meaning "happy one"
