Why! I can't get ahead this way!?
Answer:
I hear you, everything seems to be so expensive. Diapers, formula, and even shoes. I just had to buy my daughter another couple pairs of shoes, the cheapest I could find were 15.00 each. 30.00 and she will be out of them in a few weeks i'm sure. I've found that garage sales, or friends and family help out tons. I was lucky to have family that had children just enough ahead of mine, so that when their kids are out of their clothes, mine are just getting into that size. Only problem with that comes when they get older. The older the child gets, the more dirty and stained the clothes get, so are less useable.
marketing. economics. greed.
I don't know where ur shopping, but I just bought a 3 pack of Christmas type long sleeved onesies at Target for $6.99.
I agree that prices are ridiculous. Try shopping at thrift stores, garage sales, 2nd hand stores, etc. We also have exchanged and shared clothes with friends.
because baby stuff is not sold alot
Clothes so small shouldn't cost so much when they're only using like an eigth of the fabric that they would need to make an adult size.
i agree with you. any outfit is not less than 10.00, one that will last!
I know some clothing prices are outragous, I usually shop at thrift stores or consignment shops ou can get some good deals, I don't like my kids to wear crappy clothing but I cannot afford GAP but the second hand store I can get GAp OLd NAvy RL etc.
Seriously there are kids clothes at every price point AND you can always get second hand, as most kids clothing barely gets worn.
I have gotten sleepers at the dollar store even.
Prices are just going up and up. I'd suggest checking ebay... some great deals to be found. The other places that you can check is on yahoogroups.com for a freecycle location near you and post for the size baby clothes you are looking for and you can help keep usable stuff out of the dump. Also, a good place to find gently used but great condition baby clothes is craigslist.org :) And last but not least, if you teach yourself how to sew with an inexpensive sewing machine (or one that you were able to pick up through freecycle for free) you can save tons of money throughout the 'growing' years. Good Luck...
I agree, that's why I started shopping consignment shops for clothes. I live in Michigan and we have flea market type sales for moms called MOM-2-MOM sales. I have bought so many really nice items for my daughter at a fraction of the price. I also shop clearance racks for next season items. However, I have found that I get more wear out of the more expensive onesies, like Carters, so sometimes the cheaper route isn't always the more economical. Good luck!
Instead of buying brand new clothes, try second-hand stores or garage sales.
