BABY SHOWER, i NEED HELP??!!!?

what kind of gifts do u think are MOST iMPORTANT to ask for??

btw...my baby shower is about 5mos. away ... so it's not really that serious...

ALSO do u think that the younger u are [Im 17yrs-old & 2months prego] the more likely people will try 2 get you the most of what you need? opinions please, and NO ignorant answers. ThX!

Answer:
Well you can register at almost any department store( Wal-mart, Target, K-mart,ToysR'Us, Dillards, ect.)to let people know what you want or need. Whichever store(s) you choose they will more than likely give you a registery card to slip in your invites. If not write it on your invation. To my experience it reallly makes it easy for your guests because they know it is something you picked out. Good luck with your pregnancy. Take care of yourself.
YOU don't get to ask for anything at a baby shower. The people who attend get you what they feel will be best and since it is in preparation for a baby it should be things for the baby. I can understand you not wanting "ignorant" answers YOU wound up pregnant at 17, that pretty much says it all doesn't it?
the best things i got for my baby shower were nappies and wipes, you will be using these for at least 3 years and good ones arent cheap. clothes are good too but babys grow so fast that they dont last long. maybe you could think of a polite way to ask for cash as gifts, that was you can buy what you need yourself. good luck
Do a baby registry and put on it everything you need from a crib down to diapers and wipes. Then, people can get you what they can afford and not end up getting you things you don't need.
Good luck!
Whatever you do, please don't simply ask for cash. also, keep in mind that you're not entitled to gifts. People give you presents because they care about you, and you should be appreciative even if you don't like the gift.
If you register for gifts at a local baby store, Target, Walmart, etc register for EVERYTHING you want or need - that way people who attend your shower have a large selection of items to choose from. Some people will choose to buy you a MAJOR item that costs more $$ while other will choose to spend less & the more you have listed on your registery the bigger choice people have. Good luck to you!
Get the basics, knowing that you may not receive the really expensive ones.

Crib,
Crib mattress
Sheets (2-3)
Diaper bag (most come with a diaper changing mat, so you don't NEED a changing table)
Car seat
Clothing - basics like onesies, some pants, a couple pairs of socks (the socks won't get dirty, so, you don't need tons of them), some sleepers (either one-piece zippies or sleep sacks). Buy 3-6 mo sizes for clothes...my daughter is small, but she was able to wear these when she was born (a little loose) and is still wearing them 4.5 mos later. Sleep sacks are often 1 size fits all up to a year.
Bottles/nipples (a couple if you're breastfeeding, more if you're bottlefeeding).
A couple of toys for the baby.

To be honest (I'm not giving you an ignorant answer, I'm giving my opinion), I wouldn't buy more for people who are young and unmarried just because I wouldn't want them to see it as a handout. HOWEVER, if they stuck to the basics (ie. avoided 25 dollar brand name onesies) and seemed to be going for the essentials, I'd be likely to help out a bit more. Think about it, ...if you know I have 30 dollars to spend, do you want me to buy you one name-brand outfit, or got to Target and pick up a full-pack of diapers (12 dollars), a five pack of onesies (about 8-10 dollars), and a three-pack of bottles w/nipples (9-10 dollars)? And I'd feel better knowing that at least the mother wasn't stupidly denying her child, say, enough diapers just so she could wear Baby Phat clothing or whatever. See my point?
You need to ask for clothes, diapers, wipes, and a car seat. the other stuff is conveinience only . ask for what you NEED
