And why is it wrong to teach kids about finances?? When are they supposed to learn? NOW is the time. Not only will they learn how hard you have to work for what you bring in, they will learn to appreciate what part of it you share with them. They will learn the value of a dollar, of hard work, of sharing, of family, of comparison shopping, . .
Sheltering kids from life defeats the purpose of "learning about life". They will have to face it eventually, and it will be easier while they have you to help them through the tough lessons and no home or famiy to lose as they will later.
Because it's none of their business. My father has never told my sister and I his salary, and we wouldn't dream of asking.
Financial concerns are ADULT concerns. Children should not be involved in it. They should not be expected to be involved in it either!

i think its stupid. its not like you should be ashamed of what you make at work. My parents always let me in on their financial situations. But maybe some do it so their kids dont brag and make fun of children whose parents dont have that much money or think they deserve more allowance.
