What is a good american sounding name for a vietnamese/american baby?

I am an irish/american 3rd. my wife wants to give our baby a "american" name. i want a name that reflects both of our cultures. quyen/gwen and duc/duke are already taken. thurston howell the fouth is also out.

Answer:
For a girl-Kimberly And a boy-Andrew. I know someone vietnamese that named their babies that.
Whatever you pick, make sure the first name is American. It will be SOOOOOO much easier for the kid as he grows up. Have a name that reflects your culture for the middle name.
an/andy is pretty good im vietnamese too. my viet name is hieu so good luck on pickin the name. may i suggest you use the vietnamese name as the middle name and the american name as the first name.im not sure that my dad did it becuse on official papers sometimes it only shows my first and last name.

By the way, just because a name is "Long" or "Quyen" or "Nguyen" doesn't mean it's not American sounding. You should specify that you by "American-sounding", you mean "European sounding" (i.e. Tom, Jane, etc. etc.)

All kinds of people live in America, not just White Europeans.
how about john
Milo
John... u can never go wrong with that name

Well i am american and i was married to a Vietnamese and divorced yrs ago. but we had 3 children and i wanted them to have american names sense they would be living in america and born in america and going to school in america ! I didn't want a name that the other kids would make fun of when they started school, thats important ! Plus i'm american, anyway I named one daughter Kim which is Vietnamese and american name !! Not Kmberly thats american name or whatever, just first name Kim and her middle name was vietnamese , i named her after all her aunts , her dads sisters, they all had the same middle name ! So i used it because i felt it was like a FAmily name sense they all had it ! So her full name was Kim Thi Le Phan ! She passed away at only 16 and I still don't know why? Only God Knows why! And my other daughter i named Lan ,she has a full vietnamese name because she was our last baby the thrid child and i felt bad not letting him name any of them ! But i had to agree to a name , not just any funny sounding name !! But my first daughter has a american name ! I named her myself! I didn't want a crazy sounding name for a baby that was going to be growing up with american children and living in america!! Good Luck on your name. hope you like Kim it is both !!
