My son's name is going to be Athanasios Elefterios. It's a somewhat common name over in Greece, but not so much over here in the States. He's due in 3 1/2 weeks. We're naming him after my fater-in-law. Remember the Greek Wedding movie, where he's introducing all of his nephews, and they're all named Nick? Same thing here. A tradition over there is to name your first son after his paternal grandfather.

I know a couple who named 1 of their daughters Candida. That is the name of a yeast infection that women get. I knew some many yrs. ago who named their daughter Polly Ethelyn & didn't even realize what the'd done untill my husband asked them "How's Little Plastic". He then had to explain why he'd called her that. These were very well educated people too. LOL

My sister in law named her daughter Khameleon Samantha Tabitha Alexandria Rhyanna . Those are her first and Middle names. The middle names first letters spell out star.She named her son Lakoda-Kier Hammond and then the last name. Yes we tried to talk her out of both of them. Weird huh?

I knew a family in high school who's mother was apparently a new-ager or something. They were Bella, Rose, and Rain. Rain was a boy...who was a total bada$$. We always figured he felt the need to compensate for being named Rain. I also knew a BOY named Jasmine in elementary school. He went by Jay and was also violently overcompensating.

In real life, Echo Joy and my neighbor twins are named Blossom and Buttercup. Either they were really big hippies or totally addicted to the powerpuff girls. I thought they were nicknames but nope. It's their legal names.
