It's all nonsense - if you want to know the sex of your baby beforehand, just have a scan. I have a beautiful baby boy, I craved chocolate, my baby hardly ever moved, and I had sickness for the first four months of pregnancy - and about the shape - well, I've seen women with all varying shapes, and there hasn't seemed to be any pattern with regards to sex. It's all tales!

My friends have had about a 50/50 deal with the Chinese conception charts, strangely enough it seems to work less well on the girls who have a birthday while the child is developing. If that means anything. My mother SWEARS on the heartbeat thing, and keeps hounding me that it must be completely true. I said something to my doctor about it being an old wives tale, and she said, "Sometimes." She went on to tell me that it is fairly accurate, but only in about 60-70% of cases, because other things - medication, etc. - can make the baby's heartbeat faster or slower.
