Someone chid has been kept in nersury after birth. The doctors said ' Initially RD is present" what is RD.
Answer:
RD stands for respiratory distress. RD nearly always occurs in premature infants. Signs are rapid, labored breathing where the chest cavity actual indents on each breath. Baby can become fatigued from the low oxygen level in the blood and the exertion of trying so hard to breathe. The baby will be put on an oximeter to watch their oxygen level and placed under an oxygen hood until the problem clears. My daughter was born at 35 weeks and needed 4 hours under the oxygen hood.
rd = respiratory distress
yeah it means respiratory distress ( as the child will have difficulty in breathing and wil be kept on oxygen)
