Answer:
Go see your doctor, don't take anyone's advice here; this is serious and the only one who can give you sane advice and check on your own and your baby's health is your doctor. Good luck, and congratulations on your baby!

P.S.-When I went into labor, I was induced 12 hours, had contractions (monitor showed them) and did not feel ANYTHING. So don't be fooled: contractions aren't always felt, every woman is different. Go see your doctor.
Your baby is probably just settling down into the birth canal. Mine did the same thing. I had lots of pressure and it felt like my inner thigh's muscles had been pulled. Very painful. A contraction feels like a REALLY bad period cramp. When in doubt, call your OBGYN. That's what she's there for :)
call your doctor. If it is an emergency situation, you may need to go to the hospital. If you don't have a ride, you can call 911 for an ambulance. It sounds like you may be in labor!!!
I know that pressure all too well...I just had my 3rd baby 5 months ago. Anyway, that pressure is the baby moving down in your vaginal area. It hurt sometimes because it felt like I had been kicked in the groin several times. It was very tender. Mine started at 36 weeks and lasted for 4 more weeks until I delivered my baby at 40 weeks. Not much longer now! Hang in there and congratulations!

oh by the way, when it is a contraction, don't worry, YOU WILL KNOW!!
Your baby is dropping! Getting ready to go throught he birth canal! Congrats on your baby!
Your baby is dropping into your pelvis. If it gets really painful go to your doctor and have them check to see if you are dilating, you might be in the early stages of labor.
Make sure someone is with you for the next couple of days or have someone close by to call the ambulance for you. You are getting close.
Good Luck! I am very excited for you!
#1 CALL YOUR DOC.
#2 CALL MY BEST FRIEND named Debbie WHO IS A "HIGH RISK LABOR/DELIVERY NURSE" at Cabbell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
her cell is 304-638-7092
This is the stuff she deals with every day! Tell her that Debbie from OHio sent you. I think you are ok, but I'm a banker and the other Debbie is the labor/delivery expert.
I have had four children and all but the first one gave me major pressure (pushing downwards) and for the most part you will have that pressure until you have the baby. It feels like heaven once the baby is out:) Not to worry, the pressure is not premature labor. It sucks not to have anyone to talk to or guide you (female) through that stuff though. At 36 weeks the baby is probably head now so it is really crowded in there, especially if the baby is long. I had to have help getting out of bed and the only advise i have is to move slowly. Dont try to get up too fast. you can roll onto the side of your thigh and try to push yourself up. that helped me. The difference with contractions is the squeezing, you will feel more like a squeezing sensation in your uterus. And since you have been contracting already, you will probably have a show of blood or the mucus plug will come out and your water may break. but it will be ok. your body automatically knows what to do and just remember to call your doctor if you feel really strong contractions in a regular timed pattern - like 10 mins or 15 mins apart.
Never lie down flat on ur back, always lie 2 one side preferably 2 the left. Also check if u have a urinary tract infection.
have you been seeing a Dr? usually contractions start in the back and move around to the front.. and your belly gets tight.. the baby feels like its in a knot...they usually start out inconsistent in time and then become regular... if it is false labor. you can walk and it will go away... true labor it intensifies... best to call your dr. as he knows you better than anyone.
I had my baby in June and experienced the same kind of pain! It is called perineal pain and can cause pressure in your lower abdomen. The pressure you are feeling down low by your vagina is the baby's head dropping into position that it needs to be in to be born. I swear to god it felt like my daughter was going to fall out any minute, I felt that if I just pushed she would pop out! LOL
It is completely normal and I'm sorry but it wont get better until after you give birth to your lil bundle! Good luck and relax its normal :) When you get a contraction you will know, it will come and go faster and faster..dont go to the hospital immediately unless the pain in unbearable or your water breaks!
I cant help you, but I can sure relate. I am 34 weeks myself. lots of pressure. I hope you feel better
that is probable because your baby has dropped in to the birth canal this happens at different time for different women but if you are unsure you should go to the doctor
Pressure is normal. You will know what a contraction is when you get one.
