Have any of you ever called 1800-4-A-CHILD?

Please tell me what they said when you told them your story. Did they try to get you help or arrest/punish the abuser?

Answer:
I have not called, but this is on their website:

The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Serving the United States, its territories, and Canada, the Hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who, through interpreters, can provide assistance in 140 languages. The Hotline offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. All calls are anonymous and confidential.

Obviously they will not arrest an abuser...they will refer to local law enforcement and they will arrest if the investigation warrants it.
no i didn't call. sorry.
no
I work for a division of child and family services, and if you have a report then they will look into it, but it's not a joke.
They will send social services out to investigate within 48 hours.
