26 weeks Preg and blown up like a balloon?

my feet, ankles and lower legs are huge.. and so sore.
They have been like this since the week end just gone.
Anyone know why this could be, and what i can do to help them settle down?

Answer:
hi-you might want to ask your doc to check you for pre-eclampsia
one of the symptoms of that is sudden swelling.
(Is your face noticeably swollen too?)

For your feet, ankles & lower legs--be sure to keep them propped up on pillows-the height of the pillows should be so they are raised above your heart when laying down.
also--drink a LOT of water.

also-do you have any other symptoms lately that you havent noticed before?
(Hypertension
Swelling or Edema
Proteinuria
Sudden Weight Gain
Headache
Nausea or Vomiting
Changes in Vision
Racing pulse, mental confusion, heightened anxiety, trouble catching your breath
Stomach or Right Shoulder Pain
Lower back pain)
those are all symptoms of the pre eclampsia--be sure to ask your doctor about it, it can be very serious to you and baby if not taken care of/treated.
Will your doctor let you take a water pill?
Swollen feet and ankles could be a symptom of preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication. Keep your feet up as much as possible and talk your doctor ASAP.
You are probably retaining water. See your doctor for advice on safe remedies. Until then keep your feet elevated. Ice them for two min, then no ice for 15 min. Do this 5 times. Stay off your feet for a day. Only get up to use the bathroom.
Well what did you do over the weekend? it may have been to much for your changing body. i'm 30 weeks and around 26 i had one bad day where my legs where huge but i was retaining water maybe its the same for you!
you probably need to see the doctor because it could be preaclampsia where you swell and have high blood pressure you need to see the doc asap could harm you and the baby
You need to see a doctor today/now, Have your blood pressure checked, just incase its preeclampsia... It may just be a little extra fluid, but its not something you want to risk, its not just the baby but you who are risk. Rest and plenty of water are ment to be good to help releive this.
probly water if you eat much salt try to limit your salt in take. or it could just be from being on your feet to long just prop your self up on the couch and put 2 pillows under your feet relax and watch tv for a while have you a drink and a snack in reach so you wont have to get up for a while. or try soaking in the tub with warm water.
