Why do people act like abortion is a sin on here? Just curious about this subject?
Answer:
I am for abortion and i do not bash people that are against it. Everyone has their own opinions and thoughts about all subjects including this one.
If i ever had to have an abortion -it would be me and my buisness. If abortion was so bad then why are doctors allowed to perform abortions?
I believe that it is not killing - not murder cause if that was the case then no doctor anywhere's would be doing abortions.
No one can judge but god so that is why i do not pass judgement on people that have had abortions or are planning to as they have their own reasons for doing so.
No matter what anyone can sit and tell me i believe a baby is not a baby until it is born.
that's how brainwashed holy types are
Its not a sin, its funny!
people always love to argue about something and cause chaos. i'm for abortion.
it's sin because a some one would be a person it's been killed
I believe pro-life advocates see it as murder. If someone's murder doesn't affect you, does it make it any less wrong? I should think not. The same logic applies for pro-life advocates.
Because many of them are of the Christian based beleifs and they tend to beleive that their's is the "only" way, whether the rest of the world likes it or not. Kind of sounds like those Muslim Facists in Iraq doesn't it?
would you not care if tons of people were being murdered everyday?-it wouldnt pertain to you...
Because Murder is Murder, no matter how well you spin it. Scientist look for life on Mars at the cellular level yet we destroy it here for selfish reasons.
I don't act like it's a sin. I'm not the one who created life in the first place. You have to blame the fact that it is a sin on God - since what He tells us in the Bible - He would be the only reason you'd have to call it wrong. If you're a secular humanist - no problem - we're all just the result of random processes and a freak accident of nature. So, then there are no moral restraints, consequences and people can do whatever they like, murder, adultery, theft - who's to say anything is wrong - since all morals are relative to the situation and what people want to think. Everyone does what is right in his own eyes - not in God's. But that's what the bible says the world can be expected to be like - so the conversation doesn't bother me at all and it does pertain to me since I am alive - thank God - my mother didn't abort me!
it's against humanity - inhuman
That's what I say. If it's not concerning you, you shouldnt care too much... Me, personally, I think it's up to the mother and father of the would-be baby.
You need to use protected sex. If you don't want a kid. Hell that kid that you choose to kill might just be A wonderful miracle. Abortion is the lowest thing you can do just because you wont use %$n' Protection.
i am not against it if you can not look after that child or give it a good upbringing then i beleive that it is good that they have decided to have a abortion but its better then seeing it and then giving it away for adoption and then spending the rest of your adulthood looking for because you feel bad or not giving it the loving family and life averychild deserves i have had one even know that child was to the man i am now marrying we knew we couldn't give that child the best life possible if we had it at that time it was 4 years ago now and am very excited to be now trying to have a child now. some people just don't like the idea of killing your own child but really it is still just a little tadpole at that stage or just think of god a lttle to much.
Just another thing to add if god thinks its a sin why is some god telling all those irakians to keep killing and to nekro52 you can only abort until you are 2 months pregnant not eight months unless you go to someone dodgy like really dodgy it just wont be done.
It's not that simple...
What if a baby is 8.5 months along, would you not consider it a "sin" or "immoral" to abort it?
What about 2 hours along?
The problem is that there is no magical moment that occurs in pregnancy that changes an egg into a full blown human being. The steps taken from egg to a newborn baby are small and vast in number. There is no giant leap. There is no grand moment that sticks out from the rest. And so it is endlessly debated over.
Not all people believe it is a sin to have an abortion. I respect their views but wish they would not try to make others feel bad if their views differ. I often wonder when reading the views of those who are anti-abortion if they have considered the potential outcomes. What is the greater sin - aborting a foetus or mistreating, starving or even killing a child that was born to a person who is not capable of raising the child. Anyway just my thoughts
You don't understand that KILLING a baby {even if it's not fully devoleped} is MURDER ?? It's that simple.
People see it as murder, viewing the embryo/fetus as a human being from the point of conception. I am pro-choice but I do admit I see their point of view. I wish we lived in a world where abortion wasn't necessary. However, I still believe a person's body is theirs to do with as they see fit.
they think its a sin cause they think its gross from how it actually is done. and its un-natural to them. but this is the 21st century for god's sake.
At lot of "Religios Freak" they want to take a decision from us...but we won that battle in 1973 in is here to stay!
We do it..We decide...
Because it IS a sin..."Thou shalt not commit murder"...knowingly ending another human life is the definition of murder.
I have had an abortion and I am also a born again Christian so I have been to both sides of the story.
Please do not assume that everyone who doe not think like you is the enemy.

A Babies life does pertain to me I will make it pertain to me . Who else will stand up and defend the innocent? If we were all just to look the other way while people were killing babies ! And as for it being a Christian thing I strongly disagree . When I die yes I hope God does accept me into his kingdom but I know I have broken one to many commandments to even think I have a free pass to heaven .. Rape and incest or a danger to the mom's life are the only reasons one should have an abortion if that .. And that is an issue that should pertain to all of us.. If one opens her legs and use no protection you might get pregnant common sense. Why kill a Baby for ones stupidity put Baby up for adoption..
well honey if you had a spiritual connection to GOD and you read your bible it speaks on taking human's life it is a sin the reason some of us worry about that because we know the difference between doing the wrong thing & doing the right thing what if your mom had gotten rid of you? what if you were to get pregnant & had no right by mans law to keep your baby how would you feel? abortion no matter how you word it its a sin
abortion is seen as a sin because once we conceive,a life is in us.if we abort it god is displeased. remember, thou shall not kill.an unborn life has to be respected as a life ,for God values it.
Well it is a "sin" when you kill . And abortion is a form( if you will) of murder. And the reason people worry when it DOES NOT pertain to them is because in some way it did pertain to them at one time or another. Most times people have experience things and know first hand the ramifications of certain actions. And usually people don't realize that they may have f***ed up (using abortions as birth control)until later. When you could have simply protected yourself from the beginning. Abortions are no joke. Not in the least. And when we really sit the f*** down and shut the f*** up and see what it is that WE'VE done.if you don't feel a sense of regret then that's on you. But life isn't something you create consciously then LITERALLY throw it away.
Most people view it as murder. What bothers me is that most people also assume that women abort for selfish reasons. What about the women who get pregnant as a result of rape? What about a woman's rights over her own body then? And ecliptic pregnancies and other medical conditions that call for termination? Sometimes I think it is justified but most people seem to react with horror without thinking about the poor woman and her situation.
abortions--is killing of a fetus/a human
murder--is killing of an indiviual/ a human
you cant get by with walking up and shooting someone b/c that is murder...then why should someone get to murder and innocent baby that didnt ask to be brought on earth? they shouldnt have intercourse if they cant take care of the consequences..i believe that abortion is murder and that it is wrong
I will try not to show any bias either way. Hopefully this answer is acceptable to both sides.
GlitterBaby, some people on YahooAnswers are very religious. Christians believe that the Bible is the true, literal word of God Himself. They must follow God's word to the best of their ability to be rewarded by Him and avoid the punishment of Hell.
The Bible describes Moses receiving the Ten Commandments, the foundation of their religion, and lists them. One of them is "Thou shalt not kill" or "Thou shalt not murder" ... the translation is contested.
The majority of Christian denominations, following the lead of the Catholic Church (which was first to declare it officially), view abortion as a form of killing or murder. That means to a Christian the act of aborting a fetus is a grave sin, disobeying one of the Ten Commandments.
Christians worry about others' sins because they are told to teach others their religion (the relevant part is capitalized), also in the Bible, in Matthew 28:19-20:
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost
20 TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
Since Christians believe this to be commanded by God, they do it. That is why when you ask a question about abortion, many people feel the need to explain that they believe it is a sin.
The simple answer is opinions. People have their own opinions on the matter and they stick to it. It's like asking why do people concern themselves with spousal abuse if it doesn't directly affect them.it all boils down to ones own perspective.
This is like saying, "Why worry about rape/child molestation/torture if it does not pertain to you?" You know, some people actually care when other people are brutally murdered:

And yes, it is a sin. Have you never heard, "Thou shalt not kill?"
I completely agree! I posted a question about the medication abortion, wanting scientific answers, and people responded with right-wing, super-Christian, judgmental anti-abortion beliefs that implied that the woman was careless, her pain didn't matter, and just wait 'til she stood before "God" lest she BE JUDGED.
What people don't understand is that most women who have abortions have thought about every possible way to keep the kid, and aren't excited to do have the abortion, but are grateful there are other options.
To answer your question: people act like abortion is a sin, because they believe it is. What they don't realize when they judge is that those without sin can cast the first stone, and I challenge them to defend their chastity and purity. Are they totally without sin when they condemn a woman who has an abortion? I DOUBT IT.
