Flying with two 1 year olds. Double stroller or two cheap umbrella stollers?

Answer:
single umbrella's are much easier to use, move around with , fit through etc; positive for double umbrella is one person can wheel while other person can help carry bags; two single strollers make double work for both ; probably should go with double umbrella , leaves one person free to assist, carry etc.
If it is going to be 2 adults, go w/ the umbrealla strollers, the dobble was a pain for us to travel with, my husband didn't want to bring it back with us, but we did & noow vow not no travel again for a few more years
Double Umbrella Stroller!

BABY'S R US!
I would go with the cheapies, because they are way lighter and easier to get through security, I moved cross country with my big eddie b travel system and regretted the day I bought that bad boy. And that was just with one baby!
Like another person said I would combine the two ideas and get a double umbrella stroller.
I flew with a 2 year old and a four year old by myself (two years ago) and I used a Jeep double umbrella stroller and it worked out really well for me. I kept the kids in it all the way to the plane and then left it at the door and they loaded it and brought it back when we landed so that it was available when I needed it. The airline was fairly helpful and I also had a few other passengers offer me help. Of course, I was travelling alone with two small children, but it went well for me.
It might depend on where you are going, and what your needs are. Will you always be together or will you need to do things separately...etc. Do you need cup holders, under storage...etc. The least amount you have, the easier it will be getting thru security. Or if you can, ditch the strollers and get two snugli's. Not sure where you are going, but you can probably pick up cheap strollers there--if needed. Or rent a double/carseats...etc. We flew to Hawaii recently and I was going thru the same dilemma. Orignally we were taking all 3 kids (under the age of 3), but decided to leave my youngest with my mom. We checked in all our luggage, and went without strollers...and decided to purchase cheap umbrella strollers there--if needed for any sight seeing...etc. We didn't need to. And, we carried our 2 yo at times, my oldest was ok walking. I know it's not the same at twin 1 yr olds, but if I was bringing my youngest (who was 8 months at that time) to Hawaii, I think I would have brought an umbrella, or purcahsed a light weight double umbrella to have the extra seat for the other two kids, and other things. Good luck!! Don't forget airplane toys!
