What's the youngest age...?

What's the youngest age a woman can get her tubes tied or that a doctor will do it? or should he get "fixed"?

Answer:
I'm 26 and i got my tubes tied when i was 22 which was after my 4th daughter was born. i think it kind of depends on the individual and whether or not they are completely sure they no longer want the option to have children. from personal experience having my tubes tied was the biggest mistake of my life. you really need to look into all the possible emotional and physical repercussions of getting your tubes tied. look on the web for post tubal ligation syndrome before you make a life altering decision. ;)
Most doctors will not perform such an operation on a woman younger than 18 without parental consent.
Depends on the doctor. My sister in law's wouldn't do it at 26, but I know women her age and younger who have gotten their tubes tied. A lot of doctors don't want to tie women's tubes because it's not always easy to reverse and you may want to have kids in a couple of years. My SILs dr wouldn't tie her tubes because she said she was still so young and they may decide to have another baby (even though SIL and bro said 2 is enough).
I know that more that age it has to do with the number of babies you have had, it should be at leats two and being over 30!
In the state of Florida, you can not be younger than 25 and then it is hard finding a doctor to do it. I have a daughter who is mentally unstable and has had 2 children. One is 3 years old and the other is 2. We can not find a doctor who will tie her tubes because she is only 22. We have been told over and over that she has to be at least 25. These two children that my husband and I are raising are only 10 months apart in age so she could have 4 more children in the next 3 years and there is nothing we can do about it.

I have a friend who has a sister who is a crack addict and is in and out of jail. Her sister has given birth to 6 crack babies in the past 5 1/2 years and her sister (my friend) has custody of all of them. She never even sees her sister, the state just calls her and says there is another baby and she goes and gets it. She can't have her tubes tied either because the state won't pay for it and she is too young.

I hate that law.
I was 26 years old with 3 kids, 3 and 2 years apart when I got my TL. My Dr. delivered my last two. I had no problems with setting up the surgery. My youngest was almost 1yr. old.
I believe they use their own discretion to do the surgery. I have talked to friends that told me their Dr. wouldn't do it and they are in the same situation I was at that age. My Dr. refused to give me birth control pills because I smoked, but offered an alternative (the ring).
It's their discretion and treatment options but your decision in what's best for you.
What I suggest is talking with your Dr. Go over all the alternatives and if you still want the surgery find a Dr. who will do it.
i was 23 with a daughter and son i didn't want to enlarge my family any more so before you go to the doctors and ask for this done make sure its 100% what u want because u cant turn the clock back
