ok. this is a no fail way, you'll always end up with something that she wants! take her out like to the mall and just go walk around for a little while. just go in and out different stores, and PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to anything that she likes. if she points to say a sweater pay attention to the size and how much she really likes it... watch her facial expressions when she looks at different items that she says she likes... basically just see what she likes and go back at a later date without her and pick out the item that she liked the most from whichever store... just don't let her know what you're up to when you go out! or if you see her eyeing something in a magazine or something someone else has... just pay attention to what she likes and what she says she wants (sometimes you will have to read between the lines...) and you'll be able to get her the perfect gift! i promise... it's never failed me before. try it!
