I'd like to thank you for such a great question, I enjoyed reading other peoples answers, brought tears to my eyes!
I have a 21 month old and am 8 months pregnant now.
Best parts about being a mom for me, Is seeing him mature and grow, and watching him as he explores something new and trys to figure it out. When he comes up to me and hugs my leg just cause and says love you!
Another thing I love about being a mom, is watching my husband be a Dad! oh and watching my parents be Grand Parents!
Also I find that I am so much closer to my own mom, and doing and saying things I remember her saying to me!
When they get hurt and they cry for you. It makes me feel very special and needed.
the 18 yrs or more you have with them to teach them all you can to make it out there in the real world.
Everything. I never knew I could love someone so much. It's a lot of work but very rewarding! The best is when they are at their 'mommy is best stage' and mommy does no wrong.
Just knowing that you have something special that belongs to you that you made with your special partner. I have two children and they are special in their own way.
The fact that my son always makes me laugh, and makes even the bad days better!

I think the best part about being a mom is all the cute things they say.. like today when I was talking about getting a hair cut and my 4 year old said " but mommy if your hair is short you will be a man! " and when he tells me he loves me. My youngest isnt talking yet, but he is constantly doing funny things.. I think the most enjoyable part is just watching them grow up and watching them learn new things. being a mom is so rewarding, it can be hard work, but when their in bed at night, and your all alone, you just think about all the cute things they did that day. I love being a mom!
When they take their first step,when they graduate kindergarten,when they make their first handprint turkey,when they make the honor roll for the first time, their first sleep over,their first class trip, their first kiss,their first pet,their first girl/boy friend,graduation,their first apartment, college! did I miss anything? yes I did but, that should be enough for ya. I love my kids!!
lOVING SOMEONE TOTALLY AND WITHOUT FEAR OF HAVING TO BE someone your not.. also to be in the "mommy world of cartoons and happy things". and being loved for who you are.
