To be or not to be a mom?

Like lots of others here, I'm pregnant with my first, and very happy to be so. But if you'd asked either me or my husband if we wanted kids even two years ago, you woulda gotten a very undecided answer.
Mostly, I decided to go ahead because I felt my husband was a person worth reproducing--I love him enough to want more of him in the world--and I'm pretty sure that's how he feels about me.
But I waited a long time to do this. I turned 30 last fall, and got married right after, and I can't tell you how glad I am to have had my 20's to do what I wanted to do, get to know me, travel, work in a ton of different jobs, and finish my degree before starting on a family. I really think it's better for the kids if you know a bit more about who you are before you try to teach them who they should be.
I just feel I'm starting a family at exactly the right time in my life, and I feel like I'll appreciate it even more now--but I recognize that the right time for me isn't necessarily the right time for anybody else.

im 20 with one on the way. I have always loved children and always wanted to have babies of my own...their is nothing more special than carrying my husbands baby and knowing that im giving him a child and we are starting our own family. :)
Most important- do you like kids? My husband doesn't like kids, and I didn't really realize it until we had two. But now that we have a grandson, he has changed and is raising him for our daughter who is a single parent.
I am 22 yrs old and I am currently carrying my first little one. I always knew I wanted children. Not more than 2 though. I've been around little kids my entire life. They are precious gifts of life. I love kids. I can't explain it really. :) But, some people know whether or not their 'suppose' to have children or not. :)
i decided that i didt want kids.but when i found out i was pregnant,i cant even explain how excited i was..having children is not for everyone and i think that pregnancy should be planned if possible.but feeling my baby kick and move around is probably the best feeling i have ever felt.
Ever since I was little all I wanted was to be a mom. Have a family. I have never had a real family. I meet my husband and he wanted children, he grew up the same way I did. It was very important to us to have family. There is nothing more special in life than the love of your child. Who could want anything else out of life?? To me my child is my life and wouldnt want anything else.

I was born to have babies - especially with the man I love
I'm so excited with this baby i want atleast 4 more!
Some reasons not to be a mom:
financial expense
time
emotional investment
age
I'm 24 and don't have kids and don't plan on having kids for a long time. I want to establish a career and buy a house prior to having a baby.
Perhaps in the deep South or whatever it's appropriate to have a baby in one's early 20's (whoa I guess I'm behind) but where I live everyone values education way to much to let that happen. I don't know a single person my age who has a baby.
Anyway, so I think being financially secure is the most important thing to consider. Pretty much anyone can be a biological parent, but not everyone can properly support a child.
The other obvious factor is if you are ready to spend the rest of your life caring for someone.
